Samidoun Urges Fight against Imperialist-Zionist Genocide on Palestinian Prisoners Day
Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network urged action on the Palestinian Prisoners' Day, as part of a global escalation to end the genocide in Gaza. In a lengthy report marking the annual international day to focus on the struggle and liberation of imprisoned Palestinians, Samidoun called for fighting for liberation against Imperialist-Zionist genocide. '17 April marks Palestinian Prisoners' Day, the annual international day to focus on the struggle and liberation of imprisoned Palestinians; this year, 2025, marks the second Palestinian Prisoners' Day amid the height of the escalated US-Zionist genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip and throughout occupied Palestine,' the report, published on Wednesday, read. Samidoun said the Palestinian Prisoners' Day has been commemorated since 1974, as it 'highlights the struggle of Palestinian political prisoners behind Zionist bars, their leadership in the ongoing resistance and revolution, and emphasizes the ongoing demand for the full liberation of all Palestinian prisoners, a necessary component in the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea.' In the report, the solidarity network touched upon the current situation of Palestinian prisoners, and the martyrs of the prisoners' movement, as well as the role of the Palestinian prisoners in the resistance. Jihad Movement reiterates commitment to resistance till prisoners freed
Gaza - Saba: The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine stated that the issue of prisoners is a "comprehensive national issue" that concerns every Palestinian family and every home. On the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners' Day, the movement emphasized that the arbitrary detention practiced by the occupying entity not only constitutes an assault on individual rights, but also undermines the stability of entire families and affects Palestinian society as a whole. More than a quarter of our Palestinian people have experienced captivity and its suffering across the country. The movement said in a statement that the occupying entity is holding approximately 14,000 Palestinian prisoners in its various detention centers, including 3,498 administrative detainees, 400 children, and 27 women. Since October 7, 2023, the occupation army has arrested more than 2,000 Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip. They are being tortured inside prison walls amid exceptional military measures, resulting in the deaths of 63 of them in prison as a result of medical negligence and lethal torture. The movement emphasized that "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood" was launched primarily to impose a genuine prisoner exchange deal that would free prisoners from occupation prisons and alleviate the suffering of our people. It made their liberation an unwavering goal in the battle for dignity and freedom. It added: "At a time when the so-called free world is revolting to release the occupation soldiers, the international community is tarnished by its silence regarding the suffering of tens of thousands of Palestinian prisoners, which has continued for decades, amidst a clear and shameless double standard." The movement paid tribute to our valiant prisoners in the occupation's dungeons and to their steadfast families, expressing its appreciation for their steadfastness and struggle in the battles for dignity and liberation inside the detention centers. We renew our pledge to remain faithful to the promise of their liberation and freedom. The movement also called on our Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to exert all efforts and launch popular and media solidarity campaigns in capitals and universities, to exert pressure on governments, and to organize popular activities to put an end to the occupation's violations and rescue the prisoners. It also renewed the pledge of the resistance's commitment to liberating our heroic prisoners from the enemy's prisons, until the banners of freedom are raised in every Palestinian home. Palestinian prisoner from Nablus killed in Israeli jail
Occupied Quds - Saba: The Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced today, Thursday, the death of prisoner Musab Hassan Adili (20 years old) from the town of Usrin, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank. The Commission and the Club quoted the Civil Affairs Authority as saying that prisoner Adili, who had been detained since March 22, 2024, and was serving a one-year and one-month prison sentence, died last night at Soroka Hospital in occupied Palestine. The Commission and the Club stated that prisoner Adili joins the list of martyrs of the prisoners' movement, who have died as a result of the organized crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation prison system in an unprecedented manner since the beginning of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. The Commission and the Club stated that with Adili's martyrdom, the number of martyrs among prisoners and detainees since the genocide has risen to 64. Their identities are the only ones known, given the ongoing crime of enforced disappearance. At least 40 of them are from Gaza. This constitutes the bloodiest phase in the history of the prisoners' movement and the Palestinian people. The number of martyrs from the prisoner movement whose identities are known since 1967 has reached 301, while the number of martyr prisoners whose bodies are being held has reached 73, including 62 since the genocide. The Commission and the Club added that Adili's martyrdom on Palestinian Prisoners' Day "constitutes a new crime in the record of the brutal Zionist regime, which has practiced all forms of crimes aimed at killing prisoners. These crimes constitute another aspect of the ongoing genocide." They warned that the rising number of martyrs among prisoners and detainees will take a more dangerous turn as more time passes for thousands of prisoners and detainees to be held in occupation prisons, and as they continue to be exposed to systematic crimes, most notably torture, starvation, assaults of all kinds, medical crimes, sexual assaults, and the deliberate imposition of conditions that lead to serious and contagious diseases, most notably scabies, in addition to unprecedented policies of deprivation and deprivation. The Commission and the Club held the occupation fully responsible for the death of prisoner Adili and renewed their call for the international human rights community to move forward with effective decisions to hold the occupation leaders accountable for the war crimes they continue to commit against the Palestinian people. They also called for the imposition of sanctions on the occupation that would place it in a state of clear international isolation, restore the human rights system to its fundamental role for which it was created, put an end to the horrific state of impotence it has suffered during the war of extermination, and end the exceptional immunity the world has granted the occupying state, which considers it above accountability, accountability, and punishment.
