A scary situation unfolded at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach early Tuesday. A Texas man was arrested on charges of trespassing accused of jumping over an exterior wall of President Donald Trump's South Florida estate. According to a police report, officers from the Palm Beach Police Department responded to the sprawling compound a little after midnight in reference to calls about an intruder. At Mar-a-Lago, officers were met by Secret Service agents who had detained Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23. According to NBC News, Reyes had already received a trespass warning for a Mar-a-Lago break-in on Dec. 31, 2024. The agents said that Reyes had 'triggered alarms' after scaling the fence. When they spoke with the suspect, they said he told them the reason he was there: He wanted to 'spread the gospel' to the president and also marry his eldest granddaughter, Kai, 18. The golf phenom is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex wife Vanessa Haydon. The report notes that Mar-a-Lago, a federally protected area, has numerous signs posted throughout that clearly read 'No Trespassing.' The defendant was booked into Palm Beach County Jail on one count of felony occupied trespass, a misdemeanor. The break-in comes less than a year after gunman Ryan Routh allegedly tried to assassinate Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course.
