Stage is being set for 65th Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia

The crowd at the Mariposa Folk Festival in Orillia, Ont. on Sat., July 6, 2024 (CTV News) The stage is being set for the Mariposa Folk Festival happening this weekend at Tudhope Park in Orillia. This iconic music festival marks its 65th year this summer, with a three-day celebration featuring big names in folk music, including The Sheepdogs, Serena Ryder, Waxahatchee and Iron and Wine. 'This is a landmark anniversary year, promising amazing performances and unforgettable moments,' stated Mariposa Folk Festival President Pam Carter. 'Music fans of all ages come to the festival each year to reconnect in this beautiful setting by the lake, creating their own lifetime memories of Mariposa. For both festival veterans and first timers, this is a year not to be missed.' Mariposa Folk Festival 2025 One of many stages is being set up at Tudhope Park in Orillia, Ont., on Wed., July 2, 2025, for the Mariposa Folk Festival happening July 4-6. (CTV News/Chris Garry) The festival kicks off on Friday and runs through to Sunday. Tickets are available for purchase online, with children 12 and under free. For Carter, the event is all about community, including for those working behind the scenes to make it all happen. 'People have been volunteers for years and years, they come back, they see their friends, they bring their families, its just a happy, happy place." Along with the lineup of musical performances, the festival will feature family-fun activities, artisan markets and food vendors.
