'The dojo mainly trains children from the age of four and young adults from the surrounding areas of Randburg, like Ferndale, Linden, and Windsor. We teach them skills of discipline, which ensures that they can defend themselves at all times.' Danie Myeza, who bagged a gold medal in kumite and a silver medal for kata, said she is truly honoured by her achievements, even though it hasn't been an easy task throughout the past few years. 'We are proud of our students who participated in the championships, bringing home medals and representing Ferndale dojo with pride. The journey is still long, but we believe in our students' potential,' said Luenga. The dojo currently offers two days of training, on Saturdays and Sundays. As it serves low-income students and is community-based, the focus is on instilling discipline and developing their self-confidence.
