Yogi Adityanath
on Friday honoured artists from Uttar Pradesh as well as various other states who performed in front of the Vidhan Bhavan on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
Yogi unveiled the emblem of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya during the ceremony and also launched the Sanskriti app developed by department of culture.
The CM presented certificates of appreciation to Padma Shri awardee Arjun Singh Dhruv from Madhya Pradesh, Vishal Kumar from Bihar, Neeta Chettri from Sikkim, Yogesh Patadiya from Gujarat, Ved Prakash Maheshwari from Chhattisgarh, Bharat Lal Prasanna, Akash Pandey, and Ranjit Tiwari (Panini Kanya Mahavidyalaya) from Varanasi, Sona from Sonbhadra, Sangeeta Ahuja from Ayodhya, Prof Jyoti Pant from Yuveraj Dutta PG College in Lakhimpur Kheri, Dr.
Lalita Ganesh from Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Dr. Prerna Rai from Lucknow and Sanjay Sharma from Mathura.
The CM honoured artists specialising in Baiga Karma dance, Godan dance, Urkeli dance, Panthi dance, Shehnai playing, Damru playing, Shankh blowing, Garad Baja, Badhawa dance, tribal dance, Kajri, and Kathak dance.
The CM interacted with various artists and asked if they visited the Ram temple, to which the artists expressed their wish to visit the temple in Ayodhya.

The CM then instructed officials to arrange a visit for the artists to the Ram temple.
He also instructed the officials that the artists must also be taken around the important places in Lucknow, including the Raj Bhavan. The artists were overjoyed with the CM's instructions and expressed their gratitude. On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Culture Mukesh Meshram, Director of the Culture Department Vishal Singh, and others were present.
