Di Canio Blasts Penalty Decision In Inter Milan 2-2 Lazio Serie A Thriller: ‘It's A Foul 10/10 Times In Midfield' – Adds ‘Lazio Penalty Is Stonewall'

Di Canio Blasts Penalty Decision In Inter Milan 2-2 Lazio Serie A Thriller: 'It's A Foul 10/10 Times In Midfield' – Adds 'Lazio Penalty Is Stonewall' Paolo Di Canio feels that a Nicolo Rovella shove on Yann Bisseck in Inter Milan's 2-2 Serie A draw with Lazio should've been a penalty. The former striker gave his thoughts on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908. He argued that it was a foul 'ten times out of ten' in midfield, and also said that the Lazio penalty was 'stonewall.' Advertisement Inter Milan's Serie A clash with Lazio this evening was filled with drama. And among this was plenty of refereeing controversy. Both of Lazio's goals came after a VAR check. The first was initially disallowed for an offside in the buildup before the video showed that it was in fact offside. Meanwhile, Inter conceded a penalty very late on for a Yann Bisseck handball. However, referee Daniele Chiffi did not spot the infringement in real time, needing a second luck after consulting with VAR. Advertisement Firstly, there was a moment in the first half when Biancocelesti midfielder Nicolo Rovella looked to have shoved over Inter defender Yann Bisseck as he was charging into the area. Bisseck furiously appealed for a penalty. However, referee Chiffi waved the appeals away. And VAR did not intervene. Meanwhile, Inter also briefly thought that they'd scored the most dramatic of late winners. However, a VAR check confirmed that Marko Arnautovic was in an offside position. Of the first half incident, former striker Paolo Di Canio commented that 'Rovella's push on Bisseck in midfield is a free kick.' 'So why is it not a penalty when it's in the area? I ask myself.' Advertisement 'If it's a foul, it's a foul,' Di Canio argued. 'In midfield, ten referees out of ten would give that as a foul.' Then, Paolo Di Canio argued that 'the penalty for Lazio is stonewall, as clear as it gets.' 'He makes himself bigger with his arm,' the former striker argued. 'It's Bisseck's attitude that's wrong. You have to know how to act in terms of defensive tactics, that arm can't be there. Why does Bisseck make that jump?'

🎥 It's 25 years since one of the Premier League's most iconic goals The Premier League has seen plenty of iconic goals but some are true all-timers. It's a quarter of a century since Paolo Di Canio produced one of the most memorable strikes with a sublime volley in West Ham's 2-1 win over Wimbledon. Advertisement The Italian floated on air to rifle home the opener from Trevor Sinclair's impressive delivery inside the ninth minute at the Hammers' much-missed Boleyn Ground. Di Canio scored 51 goals during a four-year spell in claret and blue but there is only one which remains fondly remembered both in and away from east London. 📸 Stu Forster - 2014 Getty Images

(Photo by) A lengthy nine-month ban for breaching betting rules has plagued Tonali's career at St James' Park. However, he has re-established himself as a permanent first-team fixture under Eddie Howe this season. Despite his significance to the Magpies' set-up, Tonali reportedly feels homesick and would favor a Serie A return. Advertisement Inter are among the potential candidates to fulfill his wish. Now, Di Canio told the Nerazzurri to complete this transfer at all costs. 'Marotta outlined the profile of the kind of player they're looking for – young but experienced, Italian,' the legendary striker said. 'And I'd say there's an opportunity – not an economic one, but one that could be feasible given the kind of deals they know how to make. 'Plus, he's an Inter fan. I'm talking about Sandro Tonali, someone who can do it all in midfield. 'For Inter, he would be an investment for the years to come. '24 years old, already an international, and eager to come back with a strong desire.'

Tills stolen during 'break in' at North East football museum

A popular North East football museum has had tills and computers stolen following a break-in which caused 'serious damage' to the venue. On Monday morning (February 17) the Fans' Museum, based by St Peter's Metro Station in Sunderland, took to social media to share that it was the victim of a break in and posted images of smashed windows and damaged items. "Unfortunately we won't be open today, and will update further regarding the week folks," a post on Facebook read. "We've been broken into the police are dealing with this case now and will be viewing CCTV to hopefully catch the culprits who have done some serious damage inside the building to the original features of the building. "Sorry for the inconvenience." The museum is a popular location for pre-match drinks among Sunderland fans and houses pieces of the club's folklore including the beach ball that helped Darren Bent score against Liverpool and the grass-stained suit Paolo Di Canio was wearing during his infamous 3-0 Tyne-Wear derby victory over Newcastle United. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: 'Just before 7am today (Monday), we received a report of a burglary at a premises on North Bridge Street in Sunderland. 'It was reported that a window had been smashed and a number of items, including tills and computers, had been stolen. 'An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to locate those involved. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to get in touch with Northumbria Police by sending a direct message on social media, using live chat on the website, or calling 101.
