Masters ticket application for 2026 tournament opens June 1

Masters ticket application for 2026 tournament opens June 1 It's an annual tradition. Yes, we're talking about the Masters but we're also talking about entering the drawing to get Masters tickets. People do actually get drawn for this, so don't despair. The first day to apply is June 1 so if this event is on your sports bucket list, be sure to apply. How to apply for 2026 Masters tickets First, you need to create an account (it's free) at If you already have an account (because you've been applying for tickets years to no avail; we get it) then you don't need to create a new one. When does the application process begin? Sunday, June 1, is go time. The application window is open for 20 days, plenty of time to get your name in the hopper. If you do get your name drawn, payment will be due in July. What if I had Monday tickets last April when the course was closed by weather? Patrons who were evacuated from the grounds out of an abundance of caution due to inclement weather on the Monday of the 2025 tournament have a guarantee they can purchase Monday tickets for 2026. All fans who had tickets that day were issued refunds. Can I pick which day in 2026 I want tickets for? Yes. The online application process allows prospective patrons the option to choose up to four tickets for all seven days of the tournament but you will only be selected for one of those days. How much are Masters tickets? The prices for 2026 haven't been posted yet but here's what the individual days cost in 2025: Practice rounds (Monday, Tuesday): $100 Par 3 Contest (Wednesday): $100 First round (Thursday): $140 Second round (Friday): $140 Third round (Saturday): $140 Final round (Sunday): $140 Can I bring a camera to the Masters? Monday and Tuesday are practice rounds and Wednesday is the Par 3 Contest. Those are great tickets to get picked for because you can bring you camera to the golf course and take all the pictures you want on those three days. The four tournament rounds (Thursday through Sunday) have a strict ban against patrons bringing cameras on property. Can I bring my phone to the Masters? Phones are not allowed at all at Augusta National Golf Club. If you get to the gate with your phone, you're going to be instructed to go back and leave it in your car. And it's not just phones that aren't allowed. From the Masters website: The use of such devices for phone calls, emails, text message and other photo, video or data recording and/or transmission is prohibited. The official website has a complete list of items not allowed. Can I sell my Masters tickets? It is not only not recommended, it's not allowed. According to Augusta National Golf Club's official website: As a reminder, Augusta National, Inc. is the only authorized source/seller of Masters® Tickets. The resale of any Masters Ticket is strictly prohibited. Holders of Tickets acquired from third parties, by whatever means, may be excluded from attendance to the Tournament. There were reports of a crackdown on ticket reselling at the 2025 tournament. Can I buy tickets on the secondary market for the Masters? You can, yes. It's a free country, as they say. But, tickets purchased on the secondary market may not get you through the gates, so, as always, buyer beware.

Masters 2025: Gary Player, now 89, is living life better than everyone in his latest trip to Augusta National

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Gary Player strolled up to the tee box at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday morning, bright and early, without a care in the world. He tipped his hat to the crowd of fans packed around the ceremonial first tee shot that officially opened the 89th edition of the Masters, took one brief practice swing and fired. Happy with his shot, Player picked up his tee and then launched into a karate kick that sent his right leg higher than anyone at 89 years old probably should have. Gary Player high kick. A tradition unlike any other. #themasters — The Masters (@TheMasters) April 10, 2025 Player, even decades removed from the dominant runs of his career, was back in his element. 'I'm standing here for the 67th time, and I think the word is gratitude, just being here,' Player said. 'It's an honor to be at this, as the Scottish people say, the holy ground.' Player's attitude on Thursday morning was nothing new nor out of the ordinary, either. He absolutely thrived on Wednesday during the annual Par 3 Contest at the Masters. He was running around the short course, cracking jokes with fans and other players and even dancing. Remarkably, his game hasn't slipped much either. Player, who sent his tee shot on Thursday morning up the left side of the fairway and would've had a great angle at an approach had he been playing the hole for real, was throwing darts left and right throughout the Par 3 Contest. He even came extremely close to an ace at one point. 8 décadas y 9 años pero Gary Player sigue intacto. #elmasters — El Masters (@TheMasters_ES) April 9, 2025 Player accomplished plenty in the golf world throughout his career. He won 24 times on the PGA Tour. He won 22 times on the PGA Tour Champions, too. He also won nine majors, including three at Augusta National. The South African was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974, and he's widely considered to be one of the best golfers of all time, with an additional 118 international wins to his name. But it's what he's done after the height of his playing career that is keeping him going. Outside of being one of the best ambassadors for the sport, especially internationally, he is perhaps one of the fittest 89-year-olds on the planet. He actually went to India to meet with a gerontologist and came back with 11 things to work on, 'which I adhere to.' Player also balked at the idea that he would eat fast food of any kind. 'Well, you don't reach 90 as I do if you eat a bunch of crap,' Player said. He even credited his recent longevity to a new girlfriend, and the new outlook on life that relationship has brought him. He was married to his wife, Vivian, for decades. The couple had six children together, but she died after a battle with cancer in 2021. 'I've changed my life,' Player said. 'How about that, at 90, finding a girlfriend? … I'll tell you what guys, you all — you or your wife is going to die. One of the spouses are going to die, and it's not the end of life. 'So many people, that does happen, and they get so disheartened that they don't think they should continue life. The greatest gift bestowed upon a man or woman is life. So my ambition is to reach 100.' How much longer Player keeps showing up at Augusta each April to participate in the Masters festivities is anybody's guess. This was his 13th year participating as an honorary starter. But as long as he's physically able, Player will be around. 'I might drop dead tomorrow, but I'm giving it a hell of a try,' he said. Nobody is living life better than Gary Player.

Masters 2025 Par 3 Contest: Tee times, past winners and how to watch the one-round competition

The first round of the 2025 Masters doesn't get underway until Thursday, but a number of golf stars will take to the course a day early to take part in one of the event's most storied traditions. The Masters Par 3 Contest will take place Wednesday, and promises to be a fun warmup ahead of the first round. Ninety-one players — including current golfers and past champions — will take on Augusta's Par 3 course in a one-round competition Wednesday. Masters Tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler will be among that group, as will other standouts like Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Gary Player and Tom Watson. Here's what you need to know about the Masters Par 3 Contest before all the action gets underway. The Masters Par 3 Contest is a tradition at Augusta National. A day before the first round of the Masters, golfers play a one-round competition on Augusta's Par 3 course. It's more of a relaxed atmosphere, as golfers often involve their children in the festivities. Augusta's Par 3 course spans nine holes. The Par 3 Contest began in 1960 and has grown more popular since its inception. The course underwent a significant renovation ahead of the 2023 Masters Par 3 Contest. The Masters Par 3 Contest will air on ESPN on Wednesday. Masters coverage begins at 12 p.m. ET. The network will broadcast the Par 3 Contest starting at 2 p.m. ET. It will run until 4 p.m ET. The Masters app, and ESPN+ will provide early streaming coverage. There's no money associated with winning the Masters Par 3 Contest. Golfers receive a trophy for taking home the top prize at the event. While that sounds harmless, there's a reason golfers should avoid winning the Par 3 Contest. Some believe there's a Masters Par 3 Contest curse. No golfer who has won the Par 3 Contest has gone on to win the Masters that same year. 'You start to think if it's going to be your time'

Rory McIlroy was already one of the world's biggest sports stars, but his dramatic Masters victory at Augusta has taken him to a whole new level. The 'Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon' is one of the biggest talk shows in the United made an appearance on Thursday to discuss his Masters victory, famous contacts and he even recreated his famous washing machine video from when he was an what happened as McIlroy, wearing the famous green jacket, joined Fallon in New York. 'It's OK dad, they can't see me crying' A McIlroy went viral before the tournament had even started at Augusta. However, it wasn't Rory, but his four-year-old daughter Poppy. In the Par 3 Contest on the eve of the tournament, Poppy holed a 25-foot putt which sparked wild celebrations from McIlroy, Shane Lowry and everyone who was there to witness stood on the green, unsure how to react, and got a calming hug from her dad and Erica, her mum."I don't think she anticipated the loud cheer," said McIlroy, who also credited Poppy for keeping him relaxed ahead of his penultimate round by watching kids' film Zootopia."She got a little overwhelmed and started to cry a little bit. "When we got back to the clubhouse she wanted to see the video. She was studying it, and then said 'it's OK dad, I don't think they can see me crying'."That's all she was worried about." 'In my own world' For years, McIlroy had faced questions over whether he could compete the career Grand had been missed opportunities to claim the iconic green jacket - most notably after an infamous final-round collapse in 2011. Despite his talent and self belief, the 35-year-old admitted to wondering if he had missed his opportunity."You start to think if it is ever going to be your time," he said."I think there's a good message in there about never giving up and keep coming back. "Be strong, be resilient and that patience paid off."The Northern Irishman held a two-shot lead into the final round, and said he had learnt lessons from his 2011 collapse, when he let a four-stroke advantage slip away."I wanted to make everything else irrelevant. I'm not going to look at what my playing partner is doing, I'm not going to look at the leaderboard. "I was going to try and get in my own world. If I can shoot four-under-par, I'm going to win the Masters. "I felt like I lost the Masters in 2011 because I started to look around and started to do maths in my head."If you give yourself a target and objective, that's all you can do." Elton John got in touch - with one problem Unsurprisingly, McIlroy has been contacted by famous people from all walks of life since his win at said he was "super humbled" by those who had been in touch, but one famous musician stood Elton John needs little introduction - but there was one little problem."I actually haven't been able to connect with him yet. His assistant left me a voicemail and said Sir Elton would love to congratulate me in person."The only problem is he doesn't have a cell phone. They said I might get a call from Windsor in England on a landline, and I was like 'sure!'."I didn't even know that Elton John knew what golf was, so it's been really cool."Tiger Woods, one of the five other players to complete the Grand Slam, had a simple but very cool message for McIlroy."Welcome to the club, kid." Back to the future McIlroy's first appearance on a chat show wasn't in the glitz and glamour of New York, but a local TV programme in his native Northern Ireland. When he was just eight years of age, McIlroy showcased his talents by chipping balls into a washing machine on 'Kelly', replicating what he used to do in his kitchen in Holywood. He recreated that moment with Fallon in a race to three successful chips. No pressure as he wore the famous green jacket. "As the Masters champion I absolutely should not lose to you!" McIlroy for McIlroy, he delivered but, in his own words, "I was better when I was eight!". 'A better golfer than actor' Happy Gilmore is one of the most famous sports movies from the 1990s, and is set for a modern-day sequel that will come out later this year. It's a story about an ice hockey player - played by Adam Sandler - who goes on to become the best golfer in the world despite his unique technique and temperament. McIlroy said he was a huge fan of the original, and is set to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming release. "Happy Gilmore was the golf movie for me growing up, I can recite almost every line," McIlroy said."The fact I got the opportunity to do that was awesome and Sandler is the absolute best."But I'm a much better golfer than I am an actor."
