Three canoers rescued at Rockwood Conservation Area
Emergency services rescued three people who were stranded Saturday on a small island at Rockwood Conservation Area. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police, the Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department, the Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services were called to the conservation area at around 6:30 p.m. They were told three people needed rescue after their canoe capsized. All three people were wearing lifejackets and had climbed onto the small island. Police said they were stranded there for about an hour. The Guelph Fire Department used a boat to rescue the victims. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution while the other two were checked over by paramedics once they were back on shore.

Two drivers taken to hospital after three-vehicle collision in Woolwich Township
The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a three-vehicle collision in Woolwich Township. Police were called to the intersection of Northfield Drive East and Sawmill Road at approximately 1:05 p.m. Sunday. The collision involved a black Toyota, a white Honda and a blue Ford. 'Two of the involved drivers were transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries,' police said in a media release. 'Traffic flow in the area was impacted for approximately three hours for the police investigation.' The cause of the collision is under investigation.
