JSR school to host ‘watch party' for Axiom Mission launch
Jamshedpur: The city-based Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) is all set to witness a historic moment in space exploration on June 11 as it will host a 'watch party' for the live launch of Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4), a private spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS), operated by Axiom Space in collaboration with Space X and NASA.
The mission is scheduled to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center at 5:30 pm IST with the live broadcast beginning at 3:25 pm.
"This is a moment of great pride not only for our school but for the Jamshedpur city. This is a step towards motivating the young minds so that they feel inspired to innovate," said NHES principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury.
The mission holds special significance for the country as Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force will serve as the mission pilot.
Notably, Shukla will be the second Indian to travel to space and the first ever to visit the ISS.
Further, the mission holds excitement for the NHES management, faculty and students as it is the only school in the country chosen to organise the official watch party for this historic event, the school officials claimed.
For the school, the event has come on the heels of the aschool's increasing engagement in space education.
