Lidl Japanese gardening tool cuts back hedges for £5 and is 'too good to leave behind'

If you want to give your garden a spruce-up on a budget this summer, this Lidl product could be the one for you Summer has finally arrived in Scotland and if you don't believe it - just look out the window. The country recorded its hottest day of the year so far on Monday, May 12, with Auchincruive in South Ayrshire hitting a whopping 25.4C. And if there is one thing the good weather will push us to do, it's tidy up our gardens. Scots will want to sunbathe in peace without the eyesore of overgrown shrubbery and the general remnants of winter's chaos around them. ‌ Garden equipment is not often cheap, but if the hefty price tag of tools needed to give your outdoor space a spruce-up is putting you off, fear not. Lidl has come to the rescue with a nifty garden gadget - and it's under a fiver. ‌ Overgrown hedges are a bug-bear, but Lidl's Parkside Japanese Pull Saw With Angled Handle may be just what you need to overcome the issue. What's even better, the buy is a total bargain, only setting you back a meagre £4.99. So if the cost of living is getting to you and you're trying to stay on top of your finances this summer, but still want to catch a sun tan and enjoy a slap-up barbecue with friends, family, or neighbours, this is the device for you. The saw promises "clean, precise cutting with minimal effort" thanks to the pulling motion. The tool's flexible saw blade has coarse and fine teeth, while the saw blade can be replaced at the push of a button - no tools required. Elsewhere, the ergonomic angled handle with soft grip means no fear of twisting your arms or wrists in funny directions to get the perfect cut. An outdoor garden and shed expert has already put the Japanese saw to the test. Rob, who goes by the name of @WeekendShedHead on YouTube where he boasts nearly 18k followers, gave his verdict on the product. ‌ "It tears open easily and feels thinner than the old one," Rob shared. "It has proper fine teeth... but I'm interested in how thin the cut is." After trying it out, Rob said he was "super impressed" with the saw. He could also "see the difference" in the cut from the older model. ‌ Prospective shoppers rushed to the comment section to give their view. One user wrote: "I'm in love with Parkside stuff. Good quality and value for money!!" Another commented: "I went to Lidl today and got the pull saw with the western handle, I thought the straight handle might be trickier to use but it's not." A third gushed: "I'm going to get one of these pull saws tomorrow from Lidl and for a fiver too good to leave behind. Thanks for the Parkside tips, I'll be there on my way home from my parents to get the saw." ‌ A fourth scribed: "I'm in. Those Japanese pull saws are fantastic for guitar making, they're really accurate once you get used to the saw." The product is available in stores now, as part of Lidl's Middle Aisle products. It can only be purchased by those over 18, and according to the Lidl website, is not available in all stores. You better snap yours up quick though since, as with all Middle Aisle products, once they're gone, they're gone. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
