Mukhriz hopes to have Muda, Urimai in urban-focused opposition bloc
Pejuang president Mukhriz Mahathir hinted that the goal is to split the non-Malay vote to allow for Malay voters to be the kingmakers in urban and semi-urban seats. PETALING JAYA : Pejuang president Mukhriz Mahathir has shed more light on the proposed two-pronged coalition approach aimed at helping to address Perikatan Nasional's lack of non-Malay support. Mukhriz said PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin had called for Pejuang and other 'small parties' to form a 'loose' opposition coalition that would focus on contesting 50 to 60 seats in urban and suburban areas, Utusan Malaysia reported. 'The parties in this coalition would be a mixture. I'm hoping, for example, for the likes of Muda, the Malaysian Advancement Party led by P Waytha Moorthy, Parti Sosialis Malaysia, P Ramasamy's Urimai, and many other small parties that have a role to play,' he said. The former Kedah menteri besar said the idea was for this coalition to canvas for non-Malay support, while PN helped deliver Malay votes since they still form a significant portion of voters in urban and suburban seats. He hinted that the goal was to split the non-Malay vote to allow for Malay voters to be the kingmakers. 'In rural areas, if the Malays who are the majority are divided, then the minorities would be the kingmakers. So why not use the same formula in urban areas?' he said. Ramasamy had said PN's non-Malay components were 'too mild and conservative' to articulate the broader concerns of the community, while the coalition continues to struggle in the west coast and southern states which have non-Malay majorities. The two-pronged coalition proposal aims to counter any stigma surrounding PAS among non-Malays, acknowledging the coalition's limited traction within the community. Political analysts had poured cold water on the proposal, however, saying any non-Malay bloc aligned with PN was likely to fail as long as PN maintained its Malay-Muslim dominance. 'Grievances with Rama? We must compromise' Asked whether the Malay community's unease with Waytha and Ramasamy would hinder Malay support for their parties, Mukhriz said: 'We must compromise.' He said such compromise was what paved the way for Barisan Nasional's 61-year reign to come to an end, citing ther short-lived reconciliation between his father, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and Anwar Ibrahim. 'So we may have differences, but we can consider our differences as far less significant compared with the greater problem of allowing the Madani government to remain in power. 'When I was the Kedah menteri besar, and Ramasamy was Penang deputy chief minister, I fought with him many times … from the issue of Sungai Batu to Hindu temples, and so on. 'But now, we sit at the same table for discussions because we recognise that we have no choice but to find common ground so that we can move forward as one. 'If we remain divided, other people will benefit. So we must compromise.'

Over 10,000 show solidarity to Zara in KK
Thousands turned for the Himpunan Mega Solidariti #JusticeForZara at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu tonight. KOTA KINABALU (Aug 15): More than 10,000 people thronged Padang Merdeka here tonight to show solidarity to the late Zara Qairina Mahathir. Members of the public started gathering at the field as early as 7pm, carrying placards and banners depicting their support for the Form One student. The venue was visibly packed after 8pm, with several government and opposition leaders and members also spotted at the scene. It was understood that the event was organised by a coalition of non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Irwan Idrus, who came with five friends and family members from Tanjung Aru, attended the gathering to show his support to the late Zara and family. He expressed frustration that the case has been going on for some time but there is still no conclusion, as he lamented slow action by the relevant authorities. Irwan (second right) with family and friends attending the gathering to show support to the late Zara and family. 'So we hope that with the power of the rakyat, we can pressure the authorities to provide a swift conclusion to the case so that we can find out what really happened to Zara,' he told The Borneo Post when met. Among the political leaders present was Sepanggar Member of Parliament Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud, who went on stage and joined the public in demanding justice for Zara. Mustapha told the crowd that he forgives all those who tried to implicate his wife in the case, a rumour that had previously spread on social media. Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) legal advisor Chin Tek Ming also went on stage and addressed the crowd in a show of solidarity. Other Warisan members spotted were vice president Datuk Junz Wong, Putatan chief Datuk Uda Sulai as well as Darau assemblyman Datuk Azhar Matussin. State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew also spoke to reporters at the location. Liew said they gathered there as concerned citizens to reaffirm the ''No' to School Bullying' message, and to advocate for institutional reforms in residential schools. She proposed the pressing need to do away with any 'reactive approach' whereby the relevant authorities may only respond when a tragedy occurs, causing the loss of lives. 'We demand justice for 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir in unison. 'A promising life was cut short under mysterious circumstances. 'Her tragic death must not be in vain,' she said. Two more rallies are expected to he held on Saturday at Taman Chong Thien Vun and Lintasan Deasoka.

Warisan support extends beyond Sabah's east coast, says Shafie
SANDAKAN: Parti Warisan's influence is not confined to Sabah's east coast despite holding most of its state seats there, says its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who asserts the party continues to have support across the west coast and interior. He dismissed the notion that Warisan is now only strong in its traditional east coast base, stating the party still has a presence in areas like Sepanggar, Darau and Moyog despite the exit of several assemblymen. "The strength of Warisan is not only in the east coast. We had YBs from Sindumin, Bongawan, Papar and Kudat who left the party. "But we also have representation in Moyog, Sepanggar and Darau. So how can Warisan be seen as only having strength in the east coast?" he said. Shafie was speaking after the Sabah Youth Dialogue Session on the Future: Education, Employment, Economy, held at Sandakan Hotel on Saturday evening, which drew around 400 youth participants. At the last state election in 2020, Warisan won 23 state seats. However, the number dropped following several defections and the death of its Bugaya assemblywoman later that year. Currently, the party holds 14 seats in the state assembly following the entry of two former DAP assemblymen from Elopura and Sri Tanjong. Shafie said he remained confident in Warisan's grassroots support, especially after his recent visits to Tungku, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and Tawau. "Insyallah, we still hold the most seats in the east coast. I believe we can defend them. But we must not be complacent. We pray for strength from Allah SWT and work hard to ensure Warisan continues to partner with the people and becomes their choice," he added.

Adin Ross confronts Kanye West over Hitler comments during livestream
A FaceTime conversation between streamer Adin Ross and rapper Kanye West went viral on May 8, after Ross posed a provocative question about Adolf Hitler. The exchange took place during internet personality Sneako's Parti livestream, and a 41-second clip of the interaction quickly circulated on social media platform X. Ye tells Adin Ross why he thinks Hitler is cool 👀 — almightybrian (@ALMiiGHTYBRiAN) May 8, 2025 Ross asked West, 'Do you think that Hitler would've liked you for being Black?' After a brief pause, West responded that he believed Hitler might have appreciated him for his intellect, comparing himself to a scientist. 'I would've been a scientist that America ended up cleaning up... he loves scientists,' West said. Ross acknowledged West's creativity and intelligence, calling him a 'brilliant' artist, but was clearly unsettled by the comment. West pushed back, questioning why Ross didn't also call him a scientist. The conversation followed the debut of West's new music video HH, which Sneako premiered during the same stream. Ross reacted critically to the song and its visuals, particularly the portrayal of Black individuals chanting 'Heil Hitler.' He described it as ironic and said it came across as 'mockery.' 'I just don't really understand that,' Ross remarked during the call, adding that the imagery didn't align with the historical reality of Hitler's ideology. Ross also said he was relieved he had previously declined an invitation to livestream with West, noting that others who did were banned on Twitch that day. The clip added to ongoing backlash over West's controversial statements and further fueled debate around his new music.

Kanye's wife Bianca's naked cameo in livestream post 'marriage ultimatum'
Bianca Censori, wife of rapper Kanye West, has been caught in the nude during her husband's livestream, causing quite a stir. The 30 year-old, known for her daring public nudity stunts including wearing a completely transparent dress to the Grammys, was spotted sauntering in the background of the video with her on-again-off-again spouse Kanye. Sporting a brunette bob wig with a full fringe and high heels, Bianca seemed to be donning yet another see-through outfit – this time, a bold unitard. Internet star Sneako, who has featured in several videos with Ye, was in the front of the video and quickly moved to shield the camera as he noticed Bianca entering the frame. The clip, originally streamed on Parti, has since been shared on X and gone viral, with fans reacting to the unexpected moment. One commented: "I can't tell if she's wearing clothes or not" while another asked: "Why is she parading around naked?," reports the Mirror. "Sneako may need to invest in some extra security for that camera! Who knew the presence of Bianca Censori would cause such a commotion? Maybe she's secretly controlling all lenses in the room!". It seems that the on-off romance between the couple, who called it quits in April right when Kanye dropped a track detailing their split, is back in full swing. This development follows the moment the Gold Digger hitmaker reaffirmed his position as his wife's "master" on social media platform X. Kanye retweeted a message from an admirer which said: "every man needs himself a Bianca - she is a good woman that does whatever Ye tells her to do without caring what anyone else has to say, the only thing she cares about is being a subservient extension to her master." Kanye echoed the sentiment with a black heart emoji as he re-posted the tweet. In previous controversial outbursts on X, Kanye claimed to have "dominion" over his wife. In a February outburst, after their much-discussed appearance on the Grammys red carpet, he stated: "I HAVE DOMINION OVER MY WIFE. THIS AIN'T NO WOKE A** FEMINIST S***. SHE'S WITH A BILLIONAIRE, WHY WOULD SHE LISTEN TO ANY OF YOU DUMB*** BROKE B*****. PEOPLE SAY THE RED CARPET LOOK WAS HER DECISION. YES I DON'T MAKE HER DO NOTHING. SHE DOESN'T WANT TO, BUT SHE DEFINITELY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. "YOU STUPID A** WOKE PAWNS I HAVE NO RESPECT OR EMPATHY FOR ANYONE LIVING CAUSE NOBODY LIVING CAN F*** WITH ME BUT I DO LOVE SOME PEOPLE AND I GIVE THEM FAVOR." Nonetheless, reports suggest that post-breakup, Bianca gave Kanye a stern ultimatum—the liberty to pursue her own ambitions or she's finished with him for good. An inside source divulged: "She wants more freedom. If he doesn't accept, she'll leave and move on." Kanye has reportedly put the brakes on Bianca's potential deals with top fashion labels, despite numerous heavyweight offers – a move that's sparked "massive tension" backstage. An insider spilled the beans to The Sun, saying: "She misses doing her own work," and "She doesn't want to feel limited. She's a very creative person and wants to establish herself as a powerful, independent woman."
