Week-long jackfruit, mango fair inaugurated at Geeta Mandira in Udupi
Paryaya Puthige Mutt seer Sugunendra Tirtha inaugurated a week-long jackfruit and mango fair at Geeta Mandira in the Krishna Mutt complex on Friday, June 13, in Udupi. Speaking after the inauguration, the seer said that Lord Sri Krishna had stated in the Bhagavad Geeta that he would be happy if devotees offer him leaves (Pathram), flowers (Pushpam), fruits (Phalam), or water (Thoyam). Accordingly, the farmers and producers displayed the fruits grown in the coast at the fair. Let people think deeply about Lord Sri Krishna and reap the benefits of the fruit fair at Geeta Mandira so as to help the growers, the seer said. His junior Sushreendra Tirtha Swami, Bhavani Groups head Kusumodara Shetty, fair organiser and Bharat Mela's convener Ramanacharya, Puthige Mutt diwan Nagaracharya, its international secretary Prasannacharya, and others were present. Besides native varieties of fruits, fruit-bearing tree saplings, vegetable seeds, etc., were also on display and sale at the fair. The fair will be open to public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, Mr. Ramanacharya said.
