Neo-Nazi who live streamed fake bomb threats to Jewish hospitals in NYC and Long Island learns his fate

A Oregon antisemite has been sentenced to five years in prison for phoning in phony bomb threats to Jewish hospitals on Long Island and livestreaming the chaos as it unfolded, federal prosecutors said. Domagoj Patkovic, 31, terrorized medical workers and patients during a months-long spree in 2021, calling in threats to Jewish health care facilities in Nassau County and across the Big Apple — falsely claiming he had planted C-4 explosives throughout their buildings. Local police responded to the scene in several instances and conducted bomb sweeps. 3 Oregon neo-Nazi Domagoj Patkovic was sentenced to five years in prison for calling in fake bomb threats to Jewish hospitals on Long Island. U.S. Department of Justice 3 Patkovic claimed that he planted C-4 explosives in the Jewish health care facilities. Google Maps Northwell Health's Long Island Jewish Valley Stream hospital was partially evacuated and placed on lockdown that September after his bomb hoax made under the alias 'Abrahimavich,' according to court documents. Patkovic, of Portland, claimed to have hidden explosives in maintenance closets in the hospitals and vowed to blow the building up — all while live on Discord, a social media site popular for real-time voice chats, gaming communities, and increasingly, extremist content and fringe groups. When a 911 operator called the number back, Patkovic — still in front of a live audience on Discord — doubled down on the threats and confirmed his identity. And in at least one case, even flipped the camera to reveal his face. The neo-Nazi eventually confessed to participating in swatting and bomb threat calls with others, according to prosecutors — while also identifying himself making the 'Sieg Heil' Nazi salute over a man's unconscious body in a picture from an unrelated incident. 3 Domagoj Patkovic admitted to recording himself giving a Nazi salute over an unconscious man. U.S. Department of Justice He was arrested last August and hit with a 23-count indictment. '[Patkovic] endangered patients and diverted precious law-enforcement resources to advance his hateful agenda against people of the Jewish faith,' said prosecutor Joseph Nocella Jr. 'His actions fed a rising tide of antisemitism in America.' Patkovic pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to issue bomb threats and conveying false information about explosives. No explosives were ever found in any of the hospitals. He was sentenced on Wednesday to five years in federal prison.

Antisemitic live streamer admits to making bomb threats against NYC Jewish hospitals

An antisemitic live streamer who once made a 'Sieg Heil' Nazi salute over over an unconscious man's body has admitted to calling in a half-dozen bomb threats at Jewish hospitals in New York City and on Long Island. Domagoj Patkovic, 32, of Portland, Ore., admitted he entered into a conspiracy to make the sick threats in May and September of 2021, even going as far as livestreaming one of his threats on the messaging network Discord. Patkovic entered a plea deal in Brooklyn Federal Court on Wednesday, and he could face four to five years behind bars when he's sentenced in July. As part of his plea deal, Patkovic admitted to all six threats, starting with two calls on May 18, 2021. That day, he called a Jewish hospital in Queens, and a Jewish hospice and senior care network with offices across the city, claiming he'd set a series of bombs. Police went floor-by-floor at the hospital searching for explosives, but found nothing. He made a similar threat to the same Queens hospital on May 24, 2021, saying, 'I'm gonna kill you k—s,' according to court filings. Patkovic struck again on Sept. 15, calling Jewish hospitals in Queens and Nassau County, claiming that he'd placed C-4 explosives throughout the facilities. An NYPD 911 dispatcher called him back, and he responded, 'I just called the hospital requesting my f—–g million dollars or I'm going to blow this k–e f—–g b—h to the sky.' He livestreamed that call in a Discord channel, revealing his face on video, according to federal prosecutors. The hospital took the threat seriously enough to partially evacuate the building while Nassau cops searched for bombs. Finally, on Sept. 17, 2021, he called a new threat to the hospice and senior care network's main line, claiming to be a man named 'Timothy' and saying he had planted '15 backpacks full of C-4 with cell phones strapped to them in all of your maintenance closets.' 'I'm gonna blow you k—s sky high,' he threatened, according to court filings. Patkovic admitted to taking part in bomb threat and swatting calls with others when the FBI interviewed him in 2023, but maintained that he never spoke on the calls and that his cohorts re-created his voice with artificial intelligence. Investigators also found a photo of him showing him making a Nazi salute over an unconscious man. His explanation, according to court filings, was that 'this guy died because he came at me with a f—–g whip. … I had a picture where I 'Sieg Heil' in front of this guy's passed out body … and nothing ever came of it.' According to prosecutors' filings, 'An investigation by local law enforcement in Portland, Ore., revealed that the man later died under apparently separate circumstances.' Patkovic was busted in August and has been locked up without bail since then. 'As he admitted today, the defendant intentionally targeted Jewish hospitals and care centers in our district with bomb threats,' Interim Brooklyn U.S. Attorney John Durham said Wednesday. 'In doing so, he needlessly endangered patients and staff and diverted critical law enforcement resources from their core mission of keeping our community safe.'
