DMPD shares video in deadly January 24th officer-involved shooting According to the Iowa State University Police Department, the investigation began in February when law enforcement agencies in Texas informed the ISUPD about a student communicating with minors on social media and chat applications. The conversations contained sexual messages and included details about sex acts with minors, the ISUPD said. On Monday the ISUPD arrested 43-year-old Patrick A. Connerley in connection to the case after he arrived at a location in Ames to meet with a minor, ISUPD said. Connerley has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, enticing a minor under 16, and grooming. The ISUPD was assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Rains County, Texas Sheriff's Office, the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Central Iowa Drug Task Force.
