Two-vehicle crash sends four to hospital in Augusta County

A two-vehicle crash in Augusta County resulted in serious injuries May 2. At approximately 11:12 a.m. along Route 262, a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was traveling southbound toward Interstate 81 when it crossed the median and the northbound lanes before going up an embankment, according to Virginia State Police. The Silverado then came back into the northbound lanes and struck a 2023 Hyundai Sonata, police said. The driver and the two passengers in the Sonata all suffered serious injuries and were taken to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. The driver of the pickup was taken to Augusta Health, per state police. Virginia State Police are still investigating the crash.
