COIMBATORE: Gram sabha meetings were held in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts after the 79th
on Friday.
In Coimbatore, district collector Pavan Kumar G Giriyappanavar presided over a gram sabha meeting held at No 10 Muthur village panchayat near Kinathhkadavu.

Speaking on the occasion, the district collector appealed to the youngsters to participate in the Chief Minister's Trophy.
This event will include a wide range of sports like volleyball and cricket.
The collector appealed to the general public to participate in the various initiatives including the Ungaludan Stalin camps and Nalam Kaakkum Stalin health camps. The updates on four ongoing works at a cost of Rs 30 lakh in the panchayat were also reviewed during the meeting.
At this meeting, the awareness pledge on HIV and AIDS was taken by all government officials and the public.
In Tirupur, district collector Manish S Narnaware presided over a gram sabha meeting held at Muthampalayam in Uthukuli. Narnaware instructed the officials to expedite the water supply projects being carried out under the Jal Jeevan scheme.
Audits on the panchayat expenditure and ongoing projects like Kalaignar Kanavu Illam Scheme were reviewed.
Requests to provide corn seeds, vegetable seed packages, coconut seedlings, fruit plant packages under the National Food Security Act were received from the public.
