New roundabout opens at Howells Ferry and Firetower Roads
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Howells Ferry Road and Firetower Road is now complete and is open for travel, has learned.
According to a news release, the project was funded by the 2018 Pay-As-You-Go Transportation Improvement Program and Rebuild Alabama.

Pay-As-You-Go finances road and bridge improvements without the implementation of taxes, and funds are collected prior to each road program.
Since 1977, Mobile County's Pay-As-You-Go has added more then $1 billion to local road improvements. Voters have approved the program every time it has appeared on ballots.
