A few years ago, in 2020, Dwyane Wade's wife, Gabrielle Union, opened up about the sexual assault she faced when she was young and how it impacted her marriage during lockdown.
In December 2020, during the premiere episode of Facebook Watch's Peace of Mind with Taraji series, Gabrielle Union opened up about the sexual assault and how things changed for her when the world was under lockdown.
Dwyane Wade's wife, Gabrielle Union said, "We are so conditioned that we know what someone looks like who has suffered from PTSD, we believe we know what rape victims look like and it's not me'.
Gabrielle Union added, "I just feel a little bit more naked, exposed…Because I am just on Zoom with the therapist and I can hear the household, and then the doors open and…You know when people are like, 'You gotta keep the mystery about yourself. Don't tell him everything.' I'm like, 'Well, s--- then, the pandemic, you got the whole thing.'"
Though Gabrielle Union went through a lot of pain and a traumatic experience, her marriage with Dwyane Wade has remained strong despite all the things the two faced.
Dwyane Wade has time and again proven to be a very supportive husband to his wife, Gabrielle Union, and has continued to be there for all her successes and failures.
Gabrielle Union has also stayed by the NBA legend's side as Dwyane Wade had to be operated on as doctors predicted he might have cancer. The NBA legend had to remove one of his kidneys along with a major portion of another kidney, which later showed positive signs for Stage 1 Cancer.
Currently, Dwyane Wade's health has recovered and he is living a pretty happy and successful life with Gabrielle Union and their daughter.
