Chick-fil-A angers customers with major change in stores
Chick-fil-A has recently made some significant changes to its menu amid growing competition in the fast-food industry. Earlier this year, the fast-food chain introduced four new Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages and brought back its beloved Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich, both of which will remain on menus for a limited time. In January, when Chick-fil-A announced that it made "a slight adjustment" to its waffle fry recipe to make it "stay crispier, longer," fans threw a fit. Some customers claimed that the new fry recipe made the fries taste "bland" and pleaded for the return of the old recipe. Now, it appears that Chick-fil-A has once again frustrated fans by making a major change some didn't ask for. In 2023, Chick-fil-A first began transitioning away from serving drinks in Styrofoam cups in certain states, replacing them with paper cups. Then, in November last year, it warned customers that its restaurants in select U.S. locations will gradually stop serving beverages in double-wall paper cups and will transition to single-wall paper and plastic cups, highlighting that they are recyclable. As these changes take effect, Chick-fil-A customers have recently expressed dissatisfaction with the fast-food chain's transition to paper cups in a series of Reddit posts. Related: Pizza Hut struggles to reverse troubling consumer trend "I'm fine with the fries change, but taking away the styrofoam cup? This feels gross," wrote one Chick-fil-A customer, who attached an image of the new Chick-fil-A cup in a Reddit post. "I understand if it's better for the environment. I just reeaaallly wish we could find a similar alternative, because styrofoam really does keep that ice from melting nearly as fast," wrote another Reddit user under the post's comment section. "Styrofoam is a much better material for cups. Its insulated so your hand doesn't get cold and wet while holding it," reads another comment. "When there stopped being styrofoam cups, i stopped going to chick fil a," wrote a Redditor. Chick-fil-A's decision to stray away from Styrofoam cups comes after 11 states, including New York, Colorado, New Jersey, and Virginia, banned Styrofoam in an effort to reduce waste and boost the use of reusable items. Styrofoam is known as expanded polystyrene, which is made from a chemical called styrene. When heated, styrene can leach out of the Styrofoam and into drinks and food. Some studies have linked styrene to blood cancers and genetic damage to white blood cells. While paper cups are often seen as a safer option, they are sometimes lined with a thin layer of plastic, which can also leach chemicals such as BPA or styrene into drinks when heated. Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell release limited-time menu items ahead of summer
Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell are introducing new, limited-time menu items, just in time for summer. Chick-fil-A is bringing back its Peach Milkshake for a 16th season and introducing a Peach Frosted Lemonade as well. According to Chick-fil-A, the Peach Frosted Lemonade is made with Chick-fil-A Lemonade or Diet Lemonade and peaches, mixed with Chick-fil-A's Icedream dessert, the same base as the Peach Milkshake, which is crafted with Icedream dessert, peaches, whipped cream and a cherry. "There's something about the Peach Milkshake that really feels like the start of summer, and for 16 years, our Guests have expected -- and anticipated -- its return," Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said in a statement. "As we continue to surprise and delight our Guests with new and unique flavors throughout the year, we wanted to offer a spin on the peach taste everyone knows and loves with the Peach Frosted Lemonade. So whether it's a picnic in the park with friends, or a weeknight dinner with family, our Peach treats -- paired with crispy Chick-n-Strips -- are the perfect duo to share a bite and soak up the flavors of summer." According to Chick-fil-A, both summer drinks "will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, while supplies last." How to make fast food favorites from Chick-fil-A, Panda Express and more at home Over at Taco Bell, the chain is building on the successful introduction and comeback of Crispy Chicken Nuggets, adding Crispy Chicken Tacos, Crispy Chicken Burritos, Crispy Chicken Strips, a spicy ranchero sauce, and an avocado ranch sauce starting on June 17, available for a limited time. "Crispy chicken is having a moment, but our fans made it a movement," Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery said in a statement. "So, we decided to bring our sell-out Nuggets recipe to the formats that defined our brand, because true innovation means elevating the icons, not replacing them. We're not like every other chicken spot out there, we're doing crispy chicken the only way we know how: full of flavor and unmistakably Taco Bell." The crispy chicken additions are all under $10, with a Crispy Chicken Taco going for $2.79, the Crispy Chicken Burrito priced at $5.49 and a two-piece Crispy Chicken Strips set for $3.99. Sauces can also be added to menu orders for $0.30 or $0.60 a piece if bought a la carte.

Chick-fil-A is testing two new sandwiches, and here is where you can get them
Chick-fil-A is giving fans of its renowned sandwiches reasons to be cheerful this summer with the unveiling of two new tasty treats. The fast-food chain announced that it was testing two new sandwiches – the Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich and the Creamy BBQ Chicken - on May 29, along with the seasonal release of its Peach Milkshake and Peach Frosted Lemonade. In addition, the Atlanta-based company is also releasing new crispy Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips. The strips, along with the drinks, are available for a limited time nationwide. However, the new sandwiches are teasingly only available in two cities. Where can I try them? The Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich, featuring the original fillet, spicy or grilled, on a toasted buttermilk ranch bun with pepper jack cheese, strips of caramelized onion-flavored candied bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapeños, will be exclusively available in Salt Lake City, Utah. Customers can pair it with a side of Jalapeño Ranch Sauce for an extra kick of flavor. Meanwhile, the Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich, including the OG fillet, is served on a toasted, buttery bun with Creamy BBQ Slaw and sweet heat pickle chips. That sandwich, which can be enhanced with extra Creamy BBQ Sauce, will be available exclusively in Jacksonville, Florida. Both sandwiches are only available from now until July 19 at selected restaurants. Customers can check the Chick-fil-A app or contact their local restaurant to check if the sandwiches are available. Chick-fil-A, Inc., a privately held, family-owned company, is the third-largest restaurant chain in the United States. Yet, it is not listed on a stock exchange. In April, a study found that Chick-fil-A took the top spot among its competitors in an order accuracy study, with a score of 92 percent compared against McDonald's and Burger King, which shared a score of 88 percent.
