Chick-fil-A is handing out free fries and nuggets for the next few weeks... here's what you have to do
Chick-fil-A fans can snag food free of charge through the chain's Code Moo digital game. The restaurant chain is giving its customers the chance to win free items through the game, which launched on July 15. Code Moo features three weeks of missions to win offerings like medium waffle fries, chocolate chunk cookies, and five-piece chicken nuggets. Fans who play the game can select one of three Chick-fil-A cow characters to try and break into the Circus Burger headquarters. If their character outruns the game's security guards, a free food reward will be added to their Chick-fil-A accounts, which they have one week redeem. Chick-fil-A's younger customers can also enjoy a four-minute digital short dubbed 'Udder Chaos' and listen to the all-new Cow Tales podcast on the chain's app. Fans interested in celebrating this cow-tastic event after the summer season can purchase an item from Chick-fil-A's new Cow Collection merchandise. The line includes cow-themed shirts, bags, towels, hats, and a pickle-ball set. With over 3,000 US locations, Chick-fil-A continues to be one of the fastest-growing fast-food chains, topping ASCIs list of favorite quick-service restaurants. Chick-fil-A brought back popular offerings and introduced new ones over the last few months. The chain's popular Peach Milkshake made its triumphant return in June for its 16th year in a row. A Peach Frosted Lemonade debuted on the same day, which Chick-fil-A said 'delivers a taste of summer with every sip.' The company is also advertising its limited-time Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages, which received high praise from customers when they dropped on its spring menu. While Chick-fil-A is considered one of the nation's unhealthiest fast food restaurants, it's been busy testing new sandwiches and nuggets at participating locations in Utah, Florida, and Missouri. The new items follow the chain's decision to dial back its 'No Antibiotics Ever' pledge while maintaining its 2026 cage-free egg goal. The company racked in over $22 billion in revenue last year, one of three to reach that milestone. This year's revenue is expected to be higher, and its expansion into the Asian Market in Singapore could help them do that. Chick-fil-A's new Cow Collection merchandise includes shirts, bags, towels, hats, and a pickle-ball set Chick-fil-A is one of three fast food chains to hit $20 billion in revenue last year McDonald's also reached the $20 billion revenue total in 2024 despite this year's first quarter sales drop. It was one of the first chains to challenge competitors this summer by extending its operating hours and heavily promoting the return of its beloved snack wrap. Wendy's and Burger King jumped in with limited-time offers for rewards members before McDonald's clapped back with its spicy breakfast sandwiches. The summer beverage battles have been just as lively after Starbucks brought back its Summer-Berry Starbucks Refreshers.

Chick-fil-A 'Quietly' Releases 2 New Sandwiches. But There's a Catch
Chick-fil-A is getting ready for the summer season with new menu offerings featuring chicken sandwiches. Before you line up at your nearest location though, there's a bit of a catch to these items. Fans of the fast-food chain have become accustomed to new chicken sandwich releases in the summer with the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich in 2023 and the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich in 2024. On June 9, Chick-fil-A came through with the return of the Peach Milkshake and the Peach Frosted Lemonade, but a new sandwich was missing. According to the company's May 29 press release, they will have two signature sandwiches getting a test drive in two markets. Salt Lake City gets to enjoy the Jalapeño Ranch Club Chicken Sandwich, which features an original, spicy, or grilled filet with "a toasted buttermilk ranch bun, pepper jack cheese, strips of caramelized onion flavored candied bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickled jalapeños." The company recommends a side of "Jalapeño Ranch Sauce for an extra kick of flavor." The Jacksonville, FL, restaurants are a test market for the Creamy BBQ Chicken Sandwich with an original, spicy, or grilled filet paired with "a toasted, buttery bun with Creamy BBQ Slaw and sweet heat pickle chips." Don't forget the "Creamy BBQ Sauce on the side." Chick-fil-A connoisseurs in those locations will have to act quickly though. The sandwiches are only available from June 9 through July 19. The company advised that they should "check the Chick-fil-A App or contact their local restaurant for availability of these menu items."Chick-fil-A 'Quietly' Releases 2 New Sandwiches. Is Chick-fil-A Open on the Fourth of July?
We get it — you don't want to be sweltering over a hot grill on the Fourth of July. Or, maybe, you're in need of a small appetizer for hungry guests ahead of the burgers and hot dogs. To ensure your holiday menu is seamless, we did some digging on which fast food chains are open on the Fourth of July, and which are closing their doors. Turns out, you're in luck if you're craving some chicken nuggets. Yes, according to the company's website, Chick-fil-A will be open on the Fourth of July. The restaurant only shuts down on major holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas (and, of course, on Sundays). Hours of operation will vary by location, so it's recommended to check with your nearest location to confirm their hours (either in-store or via a phone call). The fast food chain also advises surfing the Chick-fil-A app or the restaurant's social media pages for exact hours. Certain franchise locations may close as early as 4 p.m., like this Ohio storefront announced. Want trending news, op-eds, and top stories straight to your inbox? Sign up for our Daily newsletter. Chick-fil-A angers customers with major change in stores
Chick-fil-A has recently made some significant changes to its menu amid growing competition in the fast-food industry. Earlier this year, the fast-food chain introduced four new Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages and brought back its beloved Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich, both of which will remain on menus for a limited time. Related: Papa Johns makes major menu change to win back customers While most Chick-fil-A fans have welcomed recent menu changes, not all have gone so smoothly. In January, when Chick-fil-A announced that it made "a slight adjustment" to its waffle fry recipe to make it "stay crispier, longer," fans threw a fit. Some customers claimed that the new fry recipe made the fries taste "bland" and pleaded for the return of the old recipe. Now, it appears that Chick-fil-A has once again frustrated fans by making a major change some didn't ask for. In 2023, Chick-fil-A first began transitioning away from serving drinks in Styrofoam cups in certain states, replacing them with paper cups. Then, in November last year, it warned customers that its restaurants in select U.S. locations will gradually stop serving beverages in double-wall paper cups and will transition to single-wall paper and plastic cups, highlighting that they are recyclable. As these changes take effect, Chick-fil-A customers have recently expressed dissatisfaction with the fast-food chain's transition to paper cups in a series of Reddit posts. Related: Pizza Hut struggles to reverse troubling consumer trend "I'm fine with the fries change, but taking away the styrofoam cup? This feels gross," wrote one Chick-fil-A customer, who attached an image of the new Chick-fil-A cup in a Reddit post. "I understand if it's better for the environment. I just reeaaallly wish we could find a similar alternative, because styrofoam really does keep that ice from melting nearly as fast," wrote another Reddit user under the post's comment section. "Styrofoam is a much better material for cups. Its insulated so your hand doesn't get cold and wet while holding it," reads another comment. "When there stopped being styrofoam cups, i stopped going to chick fil a," wrote a Redditor. Chick-fil-A's decision to stray away from Styrofoam cups comes after 11 states, including New York, Colorado, New Jersey, and Virginia, banned Styrofoam in an effort to reduce waste and boost the use of reusable items. Styrofoam is known as expanded polystyrene, which is made from a chemical called styrene. When heated, styrene can leach out of the Styrofoam and into drinks and food. Some studies have linked styrene to blood cancers and genetic damage to white blood cells. While paper cups are often seen as a safer option, they are sometimes lined with a thin layer of plastic, which can also leach chemicals such as BPA or styrene into drinks when heated. Chick-fil-A quietly launches unexpected new menu items
Everyone loves the classic Chick-fil-A core menu items, but sometimes not having the seasonal releases available all year round makes the heart grow fonder. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter For many, that spot was Chick-fil-A, and once the craving hit and our minds were set on going, nothing would stop us from turning the car ride back home into an oral presentation on why our parents should take us. However, many of its seasonal releases have gained so much traction that, due to popular demand, Chick-fil-A has made it a tradition to re-release them every change of season. Related: Chick-fil-A brings back fan favorite menu item and surprise addition In celebration of the approaching summer season, Chick-fil-A recently returned the Peach Milkshake and launched a new Peach Frosted Lemonade, which has become a seasonal summer tradition for the last 16 years. However, just when fans thought Chick-fil-A had forgotten to release any new menu items this year, it made a surprising revelation. Chick-fil-A has added two surprising new items to its menu, but didn't announce the launch for a good reason. If you're wondering why the fast-food chain has been gatekeeping these latest releases, it's because it has quietly begun testing two new chicken sandwiches exclusively in select U.S. markets.
