39-Year-Old Man Taken into Custody for Alleged Housebreaking and Theft in Singapore

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said on Wednesday, July 23, that they were informed about a case of housebreaking and theft at a food court along Choa Chu Kang Street 51 where cash amounting to S$2,542 was reportedly stolen. "In the second case, on July 17, at about 8.00 am, the police were alerted to a case of housebreaking and theft at a coffeeshop along Gangsa Road where cash amounting to S$800 was purportedly stolen," the police added. According to SPF, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man through extensive ground enquiries and with the help of images from police cameras and CCTVs and arrested him on Tuesday, July 22. On Friday, July 25, the man will face charges of theft and housebreaking, which are punishable under Section 451 of the Penal Code 1871. Singapore: 26-Year-Old Man Taken into Custody Over Motor Vehicle Theft at Yishun

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) issued a press release on Wednesday, July 23, and said that they received a report on July 19 that a motorcycle parked at a multi-storey carpark along Yishun Avenue 4 was reportedly stolen at about 3.50 pm. However. the motorcycle was later found abandoned along Yishun Avenue 11. SPF said, "Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on July 21." On Wednesday, July 23, the man will face charges of motor vehicle theft under Section 379A of the Penal Code 1871. The offense is punishable by up to seven years in prison and a fine. The police advised all motorcycle owners to adopt a few prevention measures, including installing anti-theft alarm system, using additional locking devices, etc. to ensure that such thefts can be avoided. A 26-year-old man was arrested by Singapore police for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of motor vehicle. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they received a report that a motorcycle parked at a multi-storey carpark along Marsiling Road was purportedly stolen on July 15 at about 7.48 am. However, the motorcycle was later found abandoned outside the multi-storey carpark. "Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day," said SPF. The man will be charged in court on Thursday, July 17, with the offence of theft of a motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code 1871. If found guilty, he may be jailed for up to seven years in prison and a fine. Singaporean Man, 26, Charged with Attempted Murder of 29-Year-Old Woman at Kallang Wave Mall
A 26-year-old man was charged on Wednesday, July 16, with attempted murder for his alleged involvement in the attempted murder of a 29-year-old woman. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they had received a call for assistance at Kallang Wave Mall on July 14 at about 1.25 am. According to SPF, the preliminary investigations revealed that the 26-year-old man had allegedly attacked the 29-year-old woman with a knife. "He was disarmed and detained by members of the public before being arrested by police officers. The woman was conveyed to hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries. She is in a stable condition," added the authority. The man was charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code 1871. SPF said that they have asked the court to remand him for psychiatric assessment. The penalty for attempted murder is life in prison and caning, up to 20 years in prison and fine or caning, or both.

Man charged with attempted murder after knife attack at Kallang Wave Mall
SINGAPORE: A 26-year-old man was charged in court on Tuesday (Jul 15) with attempted murder, after he allegedly attacked a 29-year-old woman with a knife at Kallang Wave Mall in the early hours of Monday. Chua Jing Yuan, a Singaporean, is accused of attacking the woman in a public walkway inside the mall at about 1:20 a.m. on July 14. In a statement, the Singapore Police Force said it had received a call for assistance at around 1:25 a.m. that morning. Preliminary investigations revealed that Chua had allegedly assaulted the woman with a knife. Members of the public intervened, managing to disarm and detain the suspect before officers arrived and arrested him at the scene. The victim was conveyed to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition. Chua was charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code 1871, which deals with attempted murder. Under this section, individuals found guilty may face up to 10 years' imprisonment and a fine. If hurt is caused in the act, the penalty increases to life imprisonment or up to 20 years' jail, with the possibility of a fine or caning. The police also said they would seek a court order to remand Chua for psychiatric assessment. Investigations are ongoing.
