Stout NYC Hospitality Group makes its debut in New Jersey
Stout NYC Hospitality Group expands to New Jersey, becoming exclusive operator of Alto Rooftop and Allegory Restaurant & Bar at The MC Hotel.
MONTCLAIR, NJ – Stout NYC Hospitality Group, the acclaimed owner and operator of 16 bars and restaurants throughout New York City, announced its official expansion into New Jersey as the exclusive food and beverage operator of Alto Rooftop (Alto) and Allegory Restaurant & Bar, both located within The MC Hotel, the only Autograph Collection property in Montclair.
Set against sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and overlooking the rolling hills of Montclair, Alto features a vibrant rooftop atmosphere with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Just below, Allegory Restaurant and Bar offers an elevated dining experience on the ground floor, welcoming guests into a light and airy space defined by clean, mid-century modern design. Alto, which is the only rooftop in Montclair, and Allegory are set to undergo a rebranding and renovation later this year by Stout NYC Hospitality Group and hotel ownership. These sweeping changes will be seen across the design aspects as well as the culinary and beverage offerings for the rooftop, lobby restaurant and a new coastal Mediterranean restaurant adjacent to The MC Hotel.

Stout NYC Hospitality Group has tapped the talented visionary and chef, Dan Drohan, to lead the refreshed vision for both restaurants' menus, ensuring that the culinary offerings align with the group's commitment to quality and innovation. While serving as Executive Chef at Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, Chef Dan Drohan played a key role helping launch and open new concepts including Eataly Flatiron, Enoteca San Marco, B&B in the Venetian Hotel and Babbo Boston. Known for his ingredient-driven approach, he consistently brings out the best in the highest quality, seasonal ingredients. At the forefront of the menus will be a robust cocktail program, featuring a thoughtful selection of craft beers and premium pours – including Guinness, a signature brand deeply woven into the fabric of Stout NYC Hospitality Group's portfolio.

Located at 690 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ, the Alto Rooftop will be open Wednesday through Thursday from 5PM to 12AM, Friday through Saturday from 5PM to 1AM and Sundays from 12PM to 10PM. The Allegory Restaurant is open for breakfast Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 11:30AM, lunch Monday through Friday from 12PM to 3PM, dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 5PM to 10PM and brunch Saturday and Sunday from 7AM to 3PM. The Allegory Bar is open every day from 10AM to 11PM.
