Kaizer Chiefs - 10 players linked: Who they will NOT be signing
Kaizer Chiefs are linked with many players but many of these deals will not materialize. Kaizer Chiefs are linked with 10 players from the likes of Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and their respective PSL rivals. So, these are the players Amakhosi are unlikely to sign. As always, a plethora of big-name players are linked with Chiefs. However, a lot of these so-called 'links' are just rumours doing the rounds. For starters, Chiefs are not interested in signing Bafana Bafana attacker Percy Tau. The ex-Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker is currently a free agent. Interestingly, he is willing to accept a pay-cut and is open to joining Amakhosi. Despite this, their has been no interest from Chiefs. Furthermore, Lepasa's name has been discussed following his Pirates exit. Similarly, this is another rumour with Chiefs not expressing interest in the free agent. Meanwhile, talks have gone quite over Feisal Salum. Finally, Mayele's brother shut down all rumours after confirming that his brother will not be joining any teams in the PSL. Therefore, Chiefs are unlikely to sign Salum, Tau, Lepasa or Mayele. Stanley Nwabali Feisal Salum Luke Baartman Asenele Velebayi Lebogang Phiri Fiston Mayele Percy Tau Zakhele Lepasa Dzenan Zajmovic Etiosa Ighodara Chiefs have a golden chance to sign Nwabali. This is because Chippa United are open to letting him go. However, no offers have been made at the time of publication. Meanwhile, Chiefs are closing in on these two players from their PSL rivals for R5-million. Zamalek abandons the idea of signing Percy Tau: What exactly happened?
Zamalek abandons the idea of signing Percy Tau: What exactly happened? Zamalek SC has abruptly withdrawn from negotiations to sign South African forward Percy Tau, abruptly ending what appeared to be an imminent transfer deal. Africafoot can exclusively reveal the Cairo giants terminated talks after balking at Tau's financial demands - a staggering $900,000 signing bonus that club officials deemed economically unfeasible. The 30-year-old free agent, recently departed from Qatar SC, had verbally agreed to join the White Knights. His pedigree seemed ideal: a productive 2021-2024 stint at Al Ahly (90 appearances, 18 goals, 14 assists) that included 2023 CAF Champions League glory, preceded by Premier League experience with Brighton. But Zamalek's dire financial reality - compounded by Egypt's economic crisis - rendered Tau's expectations unrealistic. Club insiders confirm they're now pursuing more affordable attacking options, leaving the well-traveled striker to reconsider his options after this collapsed homecoming to African football.

Kaizer Chiefs - Full list: 11 targets from PSL rivals, Sundowns and Bafana Bafana
Kaizer Chiefs are in the market for some key player recruitments. Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on their SEVENTH signing of the current transfer window. Jessica Motaung has confirmed that Amakhosi will be making more signings with new player announcements expected soon. So, let's take a look at all the players linked with Chiefs. Stanley Nwabali Croatian keeper (Pirates too) Asanele Velebayi Luke Maartman Lebogang Phiri Djenan Zajmovic Mayambela Feisal Salum Percy Tau Fiston Mayele Etiosa Ighodaro So, Chiefs have been linked with all of the above players this transfer window. In goal, Nwabali remains a top target for Amakhosi. This is because Fiacre Ntwari is one of FIVE more Chiefs players heading out of Naturena. Furthermore, PSL rivals Chippa United are open to offers for their top goalkeeper. Meanwhile, both Velebayi and Maartman have agreed to personal terms with Chiefs. However, they face an ongoing legal dispute over their contracts with Cape Town Spurs. Motaung has hinted at both being announced if and hopefully when these issues are resolved. Also, this R3-million capped Bafana Bafana has confirmed that Chiefs made contact with him. Furthermore, he is open to joining Amakhosi. Phiri is a former Chiefs transfer target and is one of the players they could sign if Nasreddine Nabi and co opts to do so. Mayambela is the other capped Bafana Bafana star linked with Chiefs. His brother recently teased the move on social media. Finally, a couple of international players are on Amakhosi's radar – Croatian goalkeeper Antonio Tuta and TS Galaxy striker – Dzenan Zajmovic. Percy Tau and Fiston Mayele were two of the biggest names linked with moves to Naturena. However, neither of these players is likely to join Chiefs. Amakhosi have shown no interest in Tau despite the Bafana Bafana attacker's willingness to join the Soweto giants at a reduced rate. They do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Mistakes that saw them sign big names that did not perform such as Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat. Whilst, Mayele brother has stated that a move to the PSL is no longer on the table. Thus, closing the door over a possible Chiefs move. Another player heavily linked who Amakhosi who is unlikely to sign for them is Salum. The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move for Naturena for months but talks have gone quiet. Meanwhile, outbound Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Ighodaro was initially named in Amakhosi's training squad for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands but he did not play in the friendlies. Moreover, he was not announced as a new player following the tour. Talks have stalled and the move no longer looks likely. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs transfers: Tau, Zajmovic, R15 million insult
Today's Kaizer Chiefs news wrap has rumours on Percy Tau, Dzenan Zajmovic and a fee for Yusuf Maart's move to Austria. Skipper Maart is finalising a switch to the Austrian Bundesliga with newly-promoted SV Ried. Percy Tau's future remains a subject of feverish debate. Pitso Mosimane's son heads to Italy Central midfielder Yusuf Maart, a senior and well-respected member of the Kaizer Chiefs squad, is taking his opportunity to move to Europe just before his 30th birthday. The industrious midfield man is said to be making the switch to Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried for a fee in the region of €725k (R15 million). That might sound like a decent figure for the club, but let's do a quick projection exercise. Let's assume SV Ried keeps Maart for a year and then opts to sell him to a much wealthier club. What sort of fee could they attract? At least triple what they paid Chiefs for his services? Do European clubs have any respect for football teams in South Africa? All Chiefs squad numbers, including Monyane, Mako, and Shinga Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart. Image: Muzi Ntombela/BackpagePix In an interview with Robert Marawa, Bafana winger Percy Tau sounds as though a return to South Africa could be on the cards if the price is right. 'I am Kaizer [Motaung], I at Naturena offer you R450,000 a month. Do you accept?' Robert Marawa asked Percy Tau. 'For how many years?' Tau asked. 'You sign two with an option,' Marawa added. 'Perfect,' Tau confirmed. 30-year-old Bosnian Dzenan Zajmovic bagged seven goals and two assists in the league last season, as well as three goals from two Nedbank Cup outings. The country's big clubs could be interested in signing the Belgium-born star on a free transfer this winter.
