One such provider is Perfect Journeys, a boutique Omani travel company co-founded by Karen Hardan, a seasoned German-Canadian luxury travel expert, along with partners Yasir Al Khusaibi, Sherien Sherief, and Aziz Badir. Their focus is on tailor-made mobile glamping experiences set in carefully chosen private spots - from remote deserts to hidden beaches.
Karen, who has spent 25 years in the hospitality industry, admits she never imagined herself enjoying camping - until she experienced Oman. 'I never imagined silence could sound so beautiful,' she reflects. 'I used to think luxury was about infinity pools and high-end resorts. But here, I discovered a completely different definition - one rooted in nature, privacy, and presence.'

Her journey with Perfect Journeys began in Sharqiyah Sands, where she woke to desert sunrises and spent evenings under starlit skies. Later, the group moved to Bandar Al Khiran, where their tents overlooked crystal-clear waters and secluded coves. 'We had the beach entirely to ourselves. Snorkeling in peace, sharing traditional Omani meals, and just being present - it was extraordinary,' Karen recalls.
While Oman's summer can be intense, certain regions like Ras Al Jinz and Dhofar remain viable due to seasonal shifts. 'Even during summer, glamping is possible in select areas with comfortable weather,' notes Yasir. 'But we limit operations from May to September elsewhere to ensure comfort and safety.'

Karen describes a sunrise hot air balloon ride at Sharqiyah Sands as her most moving moment. 'Lifting above the dunes in silence gave me goosebumps. It was peaceful and grounding - the kind of experience that stays with you.'
Each detail - from tent décor to majlis seating and traditional meals - was intentionally crafted. 'Perfect Journeys didn't just provide a service; they gave us a story - one that felt uniquely ours,' Karen says. 'We laughed more, had real conversations, and reconnected with ourselves and each other.'

Karen reflects on a night spent under the stars, sipping tea with Bedouins. 'Oman didn't shout for attention - it whispered. And that's what made it unforgettable,' she says.
'Our glamping is fully mobile,' explains Aziz Badir. 'We can set up anywhere across Oman - Sharqiyah Sands, the Rub Al Khali, remote beaches, islands, or mountains. That flexibility makes us truly unique.'
