‘Permanent Pictorial Cancellations will help to attract tourists'
Mysuru: Senior superintendent of post offices (SSPO) for Mysuru postal division, G Harish, on Saturday said that Permanent Pictorial Cancellations released by the postal department not only highlight prominent tourist destinations and other major landmarks of the cities, but also help to attract tourists and promote tourism in the region.
He was speaking after releasing the Permanent Pictorial Cancellation of the Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, one of the major landmarks of the heritage city of Mysuru, at a function held at his office.
The Permanent Pictorial Cancellation of the Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, brought out by the department, highlights the significance of this major landmark to tourists across the world, he said.
Speaking on the same occasion, deputy superintendent of post offices for Mysuru postal division GL Navin said that his department has also planned to bring out special postcards about the Silver Jubilee Clock Tower on account of its 100 years of establishment celebrations in the next two years.
Presiding over the event, senior postmaster Somaiah appreciated the department for bringing out the Permanent Pictorial Cancellations of the Silver Jubilee Clock Tower.
