Football Manager 26 gets a reveal trailer – here's everything to know so far

Football Manager 26 has finally been teased by Sports Interactive after months of silence. The game returns after a shock hiatus, as Football Manager 25 was cancelled by the developer in February earlier this year due to development delays. However, the studio has since shared a 30-second video revealing the new game. – With commentary from Peter Drury, it offered a very first glimpse at the brand new in-game engine, now powered by Unity. On top of that, we got a look at the official Premier League license, included for the very first time in the series. That means all the official PL teams, players, kits and more will be available in the upcoming game. The video finishes with a message saying "guess who's back" along with a first look at the Football Manager 26 logo. A match day first look is coming soon, but for now, here's a look at everything we know so far about Football Manager 26. Football Manager 26 trailer The trailer has very little detail, but you can watch the first exciting glimpses of Premier League action below. Back. Better. Building for the season ahead. #FM26 Match Day First Look. Coming soon. — Football Manager (@FootballManager) August 13, 2025 What's new in Football Manager 26? For the uninitiated, the game - unsurprisingly - lets you become a football manager, taking minnows from the depths of the footballing pyramid to the Premier League and beyond. Details are thin on the ground, but Football Manager 26 will have all of the updated teams from the 2025/26 season in the leagues it covers around the world. The Premier League license is included in the game for the first time, meaning that all 20 of the official teams will be represented, including kits, logos, player photos and more. The game engine is moving to Unity, and delays in this move are why Football Manager 25 was cancelled back in February. The new match engine seems to offer the game's best-ever graphics. As in previous years, it's likely that Sports Interactive will add a handful of new teams, but this has not yet been confirmed. Can I pre-order Football Manager 26? Football Manager 26 is not yet available to pre-order. Availability usually coincides with the annoucment of a release date. Which platforms can I play Football Manager 26 on? Previous Football Manager titles have been playable across PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and mobile. The full, traditional game is usually available on PC and Mac. A console-optimised version is usually available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with Touch usually releasing on Nintendo Switch consoles, tablets and mobile. There's also a dedicated mobile game that requires a Netflix subscription to play. Details about Football Manager 26 Console, Touch and Mobile are not yet known. The release date for Football Manager 26 is currently unknown, but usually, the games release in October or November, with Football Manager 2024, the last entry, releasing in November 2023. Football Manager 2024 Can't wait that long? If you want to get up to speed before Football Manager 26 comes out, or just to check out a brilliant football sim, Football Manager 2024 included a whole range of new features at the time that will likely be present in Football Manager 26, including Japanese leagues, player development tweaks, set-piece coaches and plenty more.

Football Manager: FM26 first look drops after months of silence

Football Manager fans have had a fresh look at the latest instalment in the ever-popular series, following the cancellation of last year's was shelved after developer Sports Interactive told players it had made the "difficult decision" to cancel as it was "too far away from the standards you deserve".In their statement, the makers added that they were putting "every effort" into the next now dropped a first look on their socials, much to the excitement of players. The clip very prominently advertises that "not all footage appears in-game", with commentator Peter Drury's voice heard saying: "The wait has been long. The build-up impossible to ignore. So much has changed, but that feeling? It never left."It ends with the words "Guess who's back?" and promises a "match day first look" will be "coming soon". Fans are, unsurprisingly, ecstatic, with many taking to the comments to share their hype. The game first launched in 2004 and usually has a new edition annually. FM25 was due for release in November 2024 before being delayed and later a blog post in February, developer Sports Interactive announced the cancellation, and confirmed it would now shift focus to the 2026 version of the game, with fans who had pre-ordered the cancelled release being offered a refund. The object of the game is to step into the shoes of a manager, pick a team, and - hopefully - lead them to victory. Sports Interactive had promised a range of upgrades to the game's visuals and interface in FM26, while also introducing women's teams for the first to Newsbeat previously, the developer said it had to build a new stats database and record new motion-capture sequences for female players. Football Manager 26 finally confirmed as Sports Interactive gives first look at new game

It's been nearly two years since Sports Interactive released its last Football Manager title. After what feels like forever, Football Manager fans finally have something to get excited about, with Sports Interactive revealing a first look at Football Manager 26. ‌ It's been 21 months since we last had a new Football Manager release, with Sports Interactive being forced into cancelling the Football Manager 25 release earlier this year after originally delaying the FM25 release from November 2024 to March 2025. After the significant delays, Sports Interactive made what must've been a very difficult decision to completely cancel the release of FM25 and give out full refunds on pre-order purchases. ‌ This was the first yearly Football Manager title to fail to release since Football Manager 2005. The main reason for the cancellation was the addition of the Unity engine, which was first announced in 2023. The Unity engine was set to overhaul Football Manager's graphics, with the game becoming renowned for its below-par visuals, and now, Sports Interactive have given us a first look at Football Manager 25, and it looks like gigantic visual improvements have been made. ‌ FM26 first look – a new beginning Sports Interactive treated fans to a first look at FM26 across its social media platforms by releasing a 30-second teaser video. The video showcases Sports Interactive's new partnership with the Premier League, which was originally announced in 2024, featuring official Premier League matchday experiences such as the Premier League ball, Premier League advertisement (which interestingly features the EA Sports FC logo), and last of all, the Premier League trophy. Featuring a mix of real-life footage and in-game footage, which is confirmed in the trailer as actual in-game footage, but not final, the 30-second clip is also voiced by commentator Peter Drury. From first glance, the graphics look fantastic, with the crowds looking much more detailed than before. We also got to see the official Football Manager 26 logo at the end, with more information on the new game, including a release date, set to be released in the coming weeks. Sports Interactive confirmed that FM25 would incorporate women's football for the first time, so after the game's cancellation, we expect this to now take place in FM26 instead. Miles Jacobson, director at Sports Interactive, described the vision for FM26 in a statement confirming FM25's cancellation as "the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series for a generation, laying the building blocks for a new era." With these new, realistic graphics and the addition of women's football, we could see the popular game offer extra competition to EA Sports FC and its newest release, EA FC 26, which is set to be released later this year.
