#SHOWBIZ: Fauziah Latiff cautious about comeback, prioritises song quality
KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Fauziah Latiff has revealed that she's taking a deliberate approach to her return to active music-making, holding back from releasing a new single just yet.
The 54-year-old artiste emphasised her selectivity in choosing material.
"I have to be careful in selecting a song because it's a responsibility I owe to my listeners.
"Beyond simply releasing something people will like, I need to truly believe in the song myself, so that my performance comes from the heart," she said.
Fauziah indicated she remains open to exploring new genres and collaborating with fresh songwriting talents.
While she describes herself as "not active anymore" in the traditional sense, Fauziah pointed out that fans can still hear her recent work, specifically her collaboration with singer JessC on the track 'Tak Terpisah.'
"That was a special project with JessC. The last time I released a song prior to that was 'Mencintaimu,' which was a soundtrack piece for the drama 'Pewaris Cinta,' and it was specifically recorded for that production," she said.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Fauziah has also recently completed filming a telefilm titled 'Srikandi,' in which she plays a character named Bonda Sultanah.
