USC Adds Elite Cornerback That Was Committed to SEC Program
USC Adds Elite Cornerback That Was Committed to SEC Program originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When it comes to the 2026 college football recruiting class, no school is as dominant currently as the USC Trojans. In a new conference under head coach Lincoln Riley, their recruiting stays strong. Advertisement Bringing in elite talent from all over the country, they have found another top recruit to head to Southern California. Formerly committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks, four-star cornerback Peyton Dyer has now committed to the Trojans, while sending a stern message. "Now that I'm a part of the real USC, I'm ready to work and build something special," said Dyer, taking a slight jab saying the Trojans are the real USC opposed to the Gamecocks. Riley has definitely been going all out on his recruiting tactics, attempting to get the best talent from all over the country to choose USC over other top programs. Advertisement His flashy welcome for recruits, commits, and official visits made headlines, and clearly leaves a lasting impression, as lots of these players choose USC after being wowed by their welcome. It would be surprising to see the Trojans take their feet off the gas in trying to hit historic numbers in their 2026 class. Now with 28 commits, they are in the drivers seat comfortably in their goal of getting the best recruiting class. Now, his strong recruiting efforts need to translate on the field. After a very disappointing season in 2024, they will need to answer the call with authority if they are to keep bringing in this high end talent. 4-star CB decommits from South Carolina ahead of UGA visit
4-star CB decommits from South Carolina ahead of UGA visit Peyton Dyer, a four-star cornerback from Duluth, Georgia, is attracting significant recruiting attention as the No. 27 cornerback in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He decommitted from the South Carolina Gamecocks this week after visiting with the Georgia Bulldogs in March. Dyer has listed where he will be taking his official visits. The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect has official visits lined up for USC (June 6), Georgia (June 13), and South Carolina (June 20) this June. Dyer has visited Georgia football multiple times this offseason and plans be in attendance for the G-Day spring game this Saturday along with many other priority recruits. Dyer has become a recruit that Georgia is going after hard. Georgia only has two defensive commits in safety Zech Fort and JUCO defensive lineman Seven Cloud. Building up the defensive side of this recruiting class will be key for Georgia, who is expected to have departures after this upcoming season.
