Wrexham Council free school transport application deadline
Parents must apply by May 31, 2025, to ensure transport is ready for the September term. The council provides free school transport for children from reception age and above if their nearest school is more than three miles away for secondary schools or two miles for primary schools. Exceptions are made for children attending Welsh medium or faith schools that are not the nearest to their home, provided they live over the minimum distance from the school. Councillor Phil Wynn, lead member for education, said: "If you think your child is entitled to free school transport, please contact the school transport team. "While the cost of living continues to rise, this is one of the ways that families can receive help towards costs associated with education. "I would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents to check if they are eligible for the school essentials grant by taking a look at the council's webpage."
