FL Liza Marcos vows help for Pinoy kids getting treatments in India hospital
First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos has vowed to provide support for Filipino children who are receiving treatments at the Apollo Hospital in India.
The First Lady posted some photos of her visit at the hospital where she met children receiving life-saving treatments for serious conditions like biliary atresia, which the National Institutes of Health defines as a condition in infants in which the bile ducts outside and inside the liver are scarred and blocked.
''To every family I met today: please know that you will not be forgotten. We -- together with the driving forces behind Apollo hospital and the Philippine-India Chamber of Commerce — will do whatever we can to support you every step of the way," the First Lady said.
She said the kids' parents made the painful decision to leave home and cross borders just to give their children a fighting chance as these treatments are still not widely available.
''What I witnessed was more than just medicine at work — it was the strength of a mother's love, the quiet courage of fathers, and the fierce will of children who simply want to live,'' she said.
The First Lady joined President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. in his five-day state visit to India.
After New Delhi, Marcos and the delegation will proceed to Bengaluru. The President will be back in Manila on Friday, August 8.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
