Shreveport Second Line Brass Band, parade
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) is hosting a second line street parade led by the Shreveport Second Line Brass Band, bringing New Orleans vibes and African roots.
On Thursday, June 12, SRAC invites the community to dance, clap and celebrate the 'Rhythm of LouisiAfrica' at 11:30 a.m.
Led by bandleader Robert Trudeau, the session features:
a second line parade
An interactive 'Iko Iko' rhythm workshop
Stories from their years playing for graduations at LSUS, Centenary & LSU School of Allied Health
SRAC details that the free event begins at 11:30 a.m. and is located at 869 Texas Avenue, Shreveport.
If you miss the second line parade, there are other upcoming summer events at Caddo Common Park, including the Phoenix Art Explosion on June 28 and the All Around the World event scheduled for July 26, 2025.
