Advancecon bags RM47.5m data centre contract, marks entry into digital infrastructure sector

ADVANCECON Holdings Bhd, via its subsidiary Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd (AISB), has clinched a RM47.5 million subcontract from Mujur Minat Sdn Bhd for the construction and completion of key infrastructure works for the Gerbil Data Centre in Port Dickson. The project is set for completion by August 30, 2025, it said in a filing today. This contract marks Advancecon's debut in the data centre infrastructure segment, supporting Malaysia's ambition to become a regional digital hub. Its CEO Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the award broadens the group's portfolio and reflects its strategic shift towards digitalisation and sustainability. KUALA LUMPUR: Advancecon Holdings Bhd, through its subsidiary Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd (AISB), has secured a RM47.5 million contract from Mujur Minat Sdn Bhd (MMSB). In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the contract involves the construction and completion of key infrastructure works for the Gerbil Data Centre project in Port Dickson. "The sub-contract is scheduled for completion by Aug 30, 2025, from the date of acceptance," it stated. Advancecon noted that the contract is expected to contribute positively to the company's earnings throughout its duration. "This marks Advancecon's maiden entry into the data centre infrastructure segment, aligning with Malaysia's aspirations to become a regional digital hub amid growing demand for cloud computing and digital services," it said. Its group chief executive officer Datuk Phum Ang Kia said the contract not only broadens the company's project portfolio but also marks a strategic move into new sectors that support the nation's digitalisation and sustainability objectives. "Guided by our purpose of transforming nations by building strong foundations for a better future, our vision is to become a global leader in infrastructure, earthworks, and renewable energy. "This project serves as a credential that will strengthen our position when pursuing similar high-quality contracts moving forward. "We intend to be more aggressive in pursuing opportunities that align with our strategic priorities and build long-term value for our stakeholders," he said in a statement.
