‘Sakthi Thirumagan' steps back from September 5 release, Vijay Antony's film avoids box office clash with Sivakarthikeyan's ‘Madharaasi'
'Sakthi Thirumagan', starring Vijay Antony , was initially announced to release on September 5th. But since the Sivakarthikeyan-AR Murugadoss duo's 'Madharaasi' was also releasing on the same day, the two big films were facing off head-to-head. Due to this, the production team decided to change the release date. Now, according to the official announcement, 'Sakthi Thirumagan' has been postponed from September 5 release, and it will hit the theatres on September 19. Vijay Antony's journey Vijay Antony, who started his film journey as a music composer, later made his debut as an actor with the film 'Naan'. He has subsequently acted in many successful films, including 'Salim', 'Pichaikkaran', 'Saithan', 'Yeman', 'Kodiyil Oruvan', 'Kolai', and 'Hitler'. His recent release 'Maargan' was also well-received by the audience. Arun Prabhu 's thriller 'Sakthi Thirumagan' is directed by Arun Prabhu, who has directed social criticism films like Aruvi and Vazh. It is reported that this film has been made in a thriller style, combining elements such as family relationships, emotions, and social backgrounds. With all the shooting and background work completed, the film was initially announced to be released on September 5th. Avoiding box office clash To avoid the box office clash with Sivakarthikeyan 's 'Madharaasi', the release date of 'Sakthi Thirumagan' has been changed. While fans are already eagerly awaiting the film's trailer and songs, it is a bit disappointing to have to wait even two more weeks; the desire to experience the film better on the big screen has increased even more. It is worth mentioning that Vijay Antony, who earlier sacrificed his titled 'Parasakthi' for Sivakarthikeyan's film with Sudha Kongara , has now left a place for the actor's 'Madharaasi' to have a grand solo release on September 5.

Vijay Antony confirms 'Pichaikkaran 3' release window
After stepping into the director's chair with Pichaikkaran 2, Vijay Antony has now confirmed that Pichaikkaran 3 will officially hit theatres in 2027. During the promotions of his upcoming film Maargan, the multi-hyphenate star revealed that the film will arrive in summer 2027. He is set to headline the threequel both onscreen and offscreen. Released on May 19, 2023, Pichaikkaran 2 marked Vijay Antony's directorial debut. He not only helmed the film and played the lead alongside Kavya Thapar but also edited it and composed the music. While the film opened to mixed reviews, Antony was widely appreciated for taking on multiple creative roles. The film also managed a decent run at the box office, grossing over Rs 12 crore. Though Pichaikkaran 2 was not a direct sequel to the 2016 hit Pichaikkaran, it carried forward the emotional and social themes that made the original a fan favourite. Naturally, anticipation was high for the second installment, and fans can now look forward to seeing how the third film will evolve within the same narrative spirit. On the work front, Vijay Antony has a packed slate ahead. While his Maargan is hitting theatres today, his upcoming releases include Valli Malai, Agni Siragugal, Khakhee, Shakthi Thirumagan, and another film with Pichaikkaran director Sasi, promising an eventful year ahead for the versatile artist.

Director Sasi to team up with actor Vijay Antony for his next!
One of Tamil cinema's top directors Sasi , best known for having made the immensely popular blockbuster Pichaikkaran, on Monday announced that he would be teaming up with actor Vijay Antony once again for his next film. Participating in the trailer launch event of director Leo John Paul's 'Maargan', in which Vijay Antony plays a police officer investigating a series of murders, Sasi said, "In 2006, when I made the film 'Dishyum', Vijay Antony was the music director. In 2016, when I made 'Pichaikkaran', Vijay Antony played the lead. Now, we are going to work together again." Sasi went on to disclose that his upcoming film was one that he considered very close to his heart. He also disclosed that this film would feature two heroes. "While one of the hero roles will be played by Vijay Antony, the other hero's character will be played by Ajay Dhishan, who happens to be Vijay Antony's sister's son. I remember Ajay as a small child when we were doing Dishyum. He is now a young hero," Sasi added.
