Mikey Madison to lead 'Masque of the Red Death'; reports
After winning an Oscar for her performance in 'Anora', actress is in talks to lead A24 and Picturestart's 'The Masque of the Red Death'. A24 has acquired worldwide distribution rights for the film, reported Variety. Madison will next be seen in 'Reptilia' alongside Kirsten Dunst. The thriller tells the story of a dental hygienist who is seduced by a mysterious mermaid into the dark and wet underworld of Florida's exotic animal trade. Filmmaker Alejandro Landes Echavarria, who is known for directing the series 'Monos' will helm the movie.'Reptilia' movie is based on a script by Landes Echavarria and Duke Merriman. The film will be introduced to international buyers at the Cannes market by Charades. Principal photography will commence this fall, reported Variety. Before her award-winning role in 'Anora' the actress Madison appeared in 'Scream 5' and had a supporting turn in Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.' On Television, Madison was part of the ensemble of FX's 'Better Things.' Madison will be joined by Kirsten Durnst who won the best actress prize at Cannes for 'Melancholia' and was nominated for an Oscar for 'The Power of the Dog.' Her other roles include 'The Virgin Suicides,' "Marie Antoinette,' and 'Spider-Man.' Dunst will next appear in Derek Cianfrance's "Roofman" opposite Channing Tatum and in Ruben Ostlund's "The Entertainment System Is Down." Landes Echavarria's previous film, 'Monos,' was premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award, reported Variety. The director Echavarria's narrative debut "Porfirio" premiered at Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2011, while his first feature, the documentary "Cocalero" - debuted at Sundance in 2007.

Neon has released a new trailer, previewing more of the mysterious body horror movie starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie. The new trailer details the relationship between Tim (Franco) and Millie (Brie). As the couple move into their first home together, things began taking a scary turn as they begin coming together in unexpected ways. Check out the Together trailer below (watch other trailers): Along with Brie (Mad Men, Glow) and Franco (The Disaster Artist, The Rental), Together also stars Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Better Man). Brie and Franco produce the movie for Picturestart alongside Erik Feig and Julia Hammer, while Tim Headington and Max Silva produce for Tango, Andrew Mittman for 1.21, and Mike Cowap for Princess Pictures. Tango, Picturestart, and 30West financed the film. She also had roles in both The Disaster Artist and The Rental, while she'll soon be seen playing Evil-Lyn in Masters of the Universe. Teresa Palmer and Liam Neeson set to star in a new dark comedy '4 Kids Walk Into A Bank'
Teresa Palmer has joined the cast of 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank, a dark comedy directed by Frankie Shaw for Amazon MGM's Orion label. The film, which began production in December in Ireland, also stars Liam Neeson, Talia Ryder, Whitney Peak, Jack Dylan Grazer, and others. Neeson plays Danny, a retired bank robber whose teenage granddaughter, Paige (Ryder), overhears that his former gang wants him back for one final heist to settle a debt. In a bid to protect him, Paige recruits her three best friends to rob the bank a day earlier, setting off a chaotic series of events. Palmer portrays the bank manager and becomes romantically involved with one of the robbers. The film is based on the graphic novel by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss, and is adapted by Matt Robinson. Production companies involved in the project include Picturestart, Miramax, Point Grey, Black Mask Studios, and Uncle Pete Productions, with FilmNation handling international sales. Palmer, known for her roles in Warm Bodies and A Discovery of Witches, has been busy with several other upcoming projects aswell. She also recently joined the Russell Crowe action film Bear Country and will star in the drama series The Family Next Door and The Last Anniversary. Additionally, she appeared in the rom-com Addition, which premiered at TIFF, and in David Leitch's The Fall Guy. Palmer is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management, and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.

Kiernan Shipka, Mckenna Grace Team Up for Thriller "The Nowhere Game"
Yara Sameh Kiernan Shipka and Mckenna Grace have signed on to star in Picturestart's survival thriller "The Nowhere Game". David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell (The Djinn) will direct off a script by Alex Pototsky, which made the 2023 Black List. WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group will co-rep domestic rights, with WME Independent handling international. "The Nowhere Game" follows Carin (Grace) and Allie (Shipka), whose road trip takes a harrowing turn when the two young women are kidnapped by a cold-blooded sadist and thrust into a brutal game of survival. The movie's official synopsis reads: "With a short head start, Carin and Allie will be set loose in the forest with limited supplies while being hunted in front of an online audience watching in grim fascination. With no sign of civilization and no way to call for help, the women rely on their wits and each other to evade capture. Navigating the hostile wilderness, they discover eerie clues left behind by previous 'contestants,' painting a grim picture of the stakes they face. As the hunter closes in, realization dawns on them: surviving isn't just improbable — it's nearly impossible. Carin and Allie must shed their fear and transform from prey to predator to bring this twisted game to its final, bloody conclusion." Recently working with Picturestart on the rom-com "Sweethearts", which wound up at Max, Shipka is also coming off of performances in "Twisters", "Longlegs", and the acclaimed indie drama "The Last Showgirl" opposite Pamela Anderson. Soon to be seen in "Scream 7", Grace was last seen starring in "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire".

Kiernan Shipka and Mckenna Grace to star in survival thriller ‘The Nowhere Game'
Kiernan Shipka (The Last Showgirl) and Mckenna Grace (Scream 7) are set to star in The Nowhere Game, a survival thriller produced by Erik Feig's Picturestart. The film will be directed by David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell (The Djinn), based on a script by Alex Pototsky, which was featured on the 2023 Black List. WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group will oversee domestic sales, while WME Independent handles international rights at EFM. The plot follows Carin (Grace) and Allie (Shipka), two friends whose road trip turns nightmarish when they are kidnapped and forced into a deadly survival game broadcast to an online audience. With limited supplies and no way to call for help, the women must navigate a hostile wilderness while evading their sadistic hunter. As they uncover eerie clues from past victims, they realize survival is nearly impossible—unless they turn the tables and become the predators themselves. Shipka, who recently starred in Twisters and Longlegs, previously worked with Picturestart on Sweethearts, which landed at Max. Grace, soon to appear in Scream 7, was last seen in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Directors Charbonier and Powell are known for their indie horror hits The Boy Behind the Door and The Djinn. Picturestart recently had a Sundance success with Together, which sold to Neon for $17 million.
