Photos: Car caught on camera doing donuts winds up in ditch
(KRON) — A car that has been caught on camera numerous times doing donuts in a Santa Clara County neighborhood wound up in a ditch. According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, neighbors in East San Martin had reported seeing the same gray BMW doing donuts in their neighborhood for months. But in the most recent instance, the BMW wound up in a ditch. Witness of triple fatal Piedmont Cybertruck crash describes what happened Deputies with the South County station responded quickly to San Martin Avenue and Sycamore Avenue, where officials said, 'they found the disabled donut lovers.' The deputies impounded the car for 30 days. 'Caught in a spin, but we've got the win!' the sheriff's office tweeted. 'No more donuts in the street, only in the box!' Santa Rosa teen arrested for bringing 9mm Glock to school
(KRON) — A high school student in Santa Rosa was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly bringing a Glock 9mm handgun to school. According to police, the Santa Rosa Police Department got a tip that a student at Elsie Allen High School was possibly in possession of a handgun. Police said an anonymous student advised school administrators that they believed a 16-year-old boy may have brought a firearm to school. Officers arrived as the lunch period was ending and students were returning to class Tuesday. According to Santa Rosa PD, officers and EAHS staff made their way to the student's location and saw the suspect with a friend sitting down on a curb with their backs turned. The responding officer, an SRPD sergeant, called the student's name as he approached. The student, police said, stood up and turned around. According to police, he was wearing a black satchel across his chest. The student, police said, ran away through the middle of campus. The officer pursued him as additional Santa Rosa PD officers arrived to assist. Officers surrounded and detained the student before he reached the edge of campus. The student, police said, peacefully surrendered without incident. The Glock 9mm was found in his satchel, and a folding knife was found in his pants pocket. The 16-year-old was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall for the following charges: Possession of a firearm on school grounds Possession of a loaded firearm Possession of ammunition on school grounds Possession of a knife on school grounds Obstructing peace officer in course of duties Police say that there is no immediate threat to the safety of the school and that the investigation into why the student brought the handgun to school is ongoing. El Cerrito Plaza BART station closed after someone struck by train
(KRON) — The El Cerrito Plaza BART station was closed Tuesday morning due to a 'major medical emergency,' according to the Bay Area Rapid Transit. A major medical emergency is typically the term the transit agency uses to describe a fatality on a BART train or at a BART station. According to BART spokesperson Chris Filippi, someone entered the trackway and may have been struck by a train. AC Transit is offering mutual aid between the stations. Riders are advised to take bus 72M to Richmond or North Berkeley Station, bus 79 to El Cerrito Plaza and to Berkeley Station, and bus 7 to El Cerrito Del Norte and Berkeley stations. No other details were immediately provided. BART gave no estimated time of reopening for the station. Elsewhere, BART is recovering from an earlier problem with a 10-minute delay on the San Francisco line in the East Bay direction due to earlier police activity. 3 people, 2 dogs displaced in San Jose fire
(KRON) – One adult, two children and two dogs were displaced after a garage fire on Saturday morning, according to San Jose Fire Department. At 5:41 a.m., crews were sent to a single-story townhome on the 5100 block of Ishimatsu Place. According to SJFD, the garage caught fire. Witnesses sought in Walnut Creek hit-and-run that injured juvenile on bicycle
(KRON) — The Walnut Creek Police Department is looking for any witnesses to a Friday morning hit-and-run collision that injured a juvenile riding his bicycle. Piedmont Cybertruck crash driver was driving at 'high rate of speed,' under the influence, said CHP Walnut Creek PD said the incident happened at 7:50 a.m. when the victim was riding eastbound in the area of Geary Road and Buena Vista Avenue. Police said the suspected vehicle made a right turn onto Buena Vista Avenue, hitting the victim in the bike lane and knocking him to the ground. Police said the car did not stop and was last seen heading southbound on Buena Vista Avenue. The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said the victim is a white boy with blonde hair who was wearing a gray helmet, light gray sweatshirt, black pants, and riding a brown colored bicycle. There was no description provided for the wanted vehicle or its driver.
