141 honoured with Sarawak state awards at investiture ceremony

KUCHING (June 25): A total of 141 individuals were conferred state awards and medals during an investiture ceremony at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri here today.
The ceremony was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, according to the Sarawak Information Department.
Among the early recipients was Kuching Division Resident Dayang Joanita Azizah Awang Morshidi, who received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC).
Five academicians were honoured with the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS): Prof Dr Edmund Sim Ui Hang and Prof Dr Khairul Adha A. Rahims of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas); Assoc Prof Ts ChM Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin of UiTM Sarawak; as well as Angeline Chia Poh Lin and Chia Swee Choo.
Ten individuals received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK), while 24 were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB).
Meanwhile, 19 recipients were conferred the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), and 15 received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK).
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) had the highest number of honourees, with 34 recipients, followed by 25 individuals who were presented the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) during the final segment of the ceremony.
