Earlier, in an interview, Jiyaa Shankar opened up about misconduct on sets, saying, 'It has happened to me a lot of times. Because I'm a director's actor. Whatever you say, however you say it, yes sir, yes ma'am, I'll do that, just because I'm like this, that I'm very easy-going, people think, 'Yeah, we can treat her however we want,' and that happened a lot initially when I was new in the industry."

She also appeared in the Marathi film Ved, co-starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Dsouza. Ved was Jiyaa's first Marathi film. Ved followed the life of Satya, played by Riteish Deshmukh, a young man from Mumbai's suburbs who aspires to be a cricket player. He meets Nisha (Jiyaa Shankar) and falls in love. Destiny takes her away from him, and he continues to suffer despite marrying Sharvani, whom he has always adored. It is about him finding redemption and making peace with his past. Ashok Saraf and Shubhankar Tawde also had significant roles in the film. The film was released on December 30, 2022, and Riteish made his directorial debut.
