Just days away from Easter, egg prices are at a record high
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — With Easter just a few days away, egg prices in grocery stores are at a record high. The Pitt County Cooperative Extension says that high prices are mostly due to Bird Flu outbreaks.
'If we look nationally on the trends, according to the U.S. marketing report recently or last week, the wholesale prices are coming down,' Pitt County Livestock Agent Andy Burlingham said. 'But prices in the grocery store are remaining strong at the retail level.'
With these high prices, people are looking to alternatives for their Easter festivities. For more information, click on the video above.
