Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 as a strong response to Pakistan-sponsored terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, in which 26 innocent people were killed. The Indian Air Force carried out precision strikes on nine terror-linked locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Among the targets were the headquarters in Bahawalpur and a key site in Muridke, located deep inside mainland Pakistan. After these strikes, Pakistan responded with shelling across the Line of Control and attempted drone attacks along border areas.
