Planet Awarded €240 Million Satellite Services Deal
BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Planet Labs Germany GmbH, a leading provider of daily data and insights about Earth, today announced a multi-year €240 million agreement, funded by the German government, in support of European peace and security. Through the agreement, Planet will provide dedicated capacity and direct downlink services on Pelican satellites over specific European regions. This deal also includes access to PlanetScope and SkySat data, along with AI-enabled solutions for enhanced situational awareness and maritime domain awareness. Planet Labs Germany GmbH today announced a multi-year €240 million agreement, funded by the German government, in support of European peace and security. The contract will provide high-resolution imagery and timely intelligence via dedicated capacity on Pelican satellites, including those being built for our previously announced satellite services agreement. Planet Signs 7-Figure Contract Expansion with the German Government, Enabling Land and Water Management from Space
BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Planet Labs Germany GmbH, a leading provider of daily data and insights about Earth, today announced the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI) and the German Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) have signed a seven-figure contract with Planet with a one year term and an option to renew for two more years. The deal includes a fixed rate of all of Planet's data products over Germany, including insights from Planetary Variables, water monitoring services from Planet's partner EOMAP and access to Planet's Insights Platform. This data will inform a variety of use cases, including monitoring water, forests, agriculture, socio-economics, and land-use, and support federal monitoring campaigns and environmental assessments. 'Germany's topography is incredibly diverse, including agricultural land, forests, rivers and mountains, making Planet's broad area monitoring capabilities invaluable to understand daily changes,' said Martin Polak, Managing Director of Planet Labs Germany GmbH. Planet Signs Deal with European Space Agency (ESA), Joining the Copernicus Contributing Missions

Through this contract, Planet joins the Copernicus Contributing Missions, officially contributing commercial satellite data alongside ESA's Sentinel satellite data to the Copernicus services. Through this contract, Planet's near-daily PlanetScope satellite imagery and high-resolution SkySat imagery will serve as complementary data to ESA's existing, robust data offerings, ensuring geospatial analysts can meet their broad range of data needs.
