Shoppers praise 'cute' toy range with prices starting from 80p

It can be easy to let screen time dominate our daily family lives, especially with the summer holidays on the horizon. To help sway the tide, one retailer is inviting families to pause, unplug and enjoy more time together. High Street favourite, The Works, has a full range of exciting and fun children's toys designed to encourage imaginative play. The PlayWorks collection has everything little ones need to enjoy active play, problem-solving, role play and hands-on exploration, to help them grow and thrive through play. Encouraging families to enjoy 'time well spent', the exclusive toy range is budget-friendly. With items from £1, customers can also save 20% off selected Playworks toys and games for a limited time only. Most parents will agree that the best play comes from imagination, so toys do not need to cost a fortune. Argos also offers a selection of fuss-free toys and games to keep young minds amused, although their price tags are slightly higher. Some of the best include the Chad Valley Shopping Trolley Playset. Priced at £11.99 it is included in a three for £20 deal on play food and role play toys. Role play is great fun for younger kids, letting them explore their imagination and make sense of the world around them through pretend scenarios. Pretending to cook with play food has a timeless charm that children love to do. Playworks has toys and games to fuel the imagination with prices from 80p. Put down the devices and enjoy time well spent together. Children can cook up a storm with the PlayWorks Pretend & Play Ice Cream Party Set, reduced from £6 to £4.80, with scoops and crispy cones, or the sweet treats and milkshakes in the PlayWorks Pretend & Play Bakery Tray Set, down from £5 to £4. The Bakery Tray Set was a big hit with parents. One said: 'Super cute and an absolute bargain for a fiver! My 4-year-old adores her little bakery playset. Great value." For budding medical professionals, the PlayWorks Pretend & Play Doctor Role Play Set is now down from £7 to £5.60 and has five star reviews across the board. One shopper said: "It has really been fantastic for learning and fun." Another added: "Great little play set for younger set for role play and a great carry case to keep everything in and play with." While most buyers love the set, one reviewer called it "a bit basic." Proving that just a few simple additions can turn any outfit into something more fun, PlayWorks dressing-up accessories start from 80p and include a rainbow sequin play wand, a unicorn headband and a frog wand set. The £2 PlayWorks Buddy Town Diecast Street Car is perfect for cruising the neighbourhood or racing to the finish line. Part of the Buddy Town collection by PlayWorks, it's made for imaginative play for those aged three and up. To keep little hands busy, wooden jigsaws are always a popular choice. The PlayWorks Wooden Space Puzzle features vibrant, space-themed pieces that combine to create an exciting outer space scene. Ideal for encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills, there are a number of designs to choose from including a fairy design starting at £2.40. Even the youngest of customers are catered for, with the Playworks Shape Sorter Eggs, reduced from £5 to £4. A fun and colourful way for toddlers to explore shapes, colours, and matching skills, each egg opens to reveal a unique shape, making it perfect for play that builds problem-solving and coordination skills. Educational toys are also included in the 20% deal. The PlayWorks Time To Learn Wipe-Off Reward Chart is a particular favourite that encourages children to reach weekly goals with a different task each day, and then reward their good behaviour with stickers and or treats. Down from the usual price of £3 to £2.40, parents are impressed with the reward chart giving it a 4.5 out of five-star rating. One buyer said: "Works very well for what we need it for. You can write your own tasks and rewards with a white board pen or use stickers provided." One customer was less impressed with the strength of the magnets but loved the concept. Leaving a four-star review, they said: "This rewards chart has been a good visual for my toddler. It has helped with some behaviours and routines at home. "I've hung it on my fridge. There are magnets across the back of the board; however, they are very weak so are unable to stick on the fridge. I've had to use a different magnet to hang it off of." However, another added: "Very handy strong magnets on the back, easily wipeable with the lid of the pen, my kids love them and are working towards their goal really well." Elsewhere, Sainsbury's also has some good deals for younger family members. For junior racers, the Hot Wheels Cars Vehicle Assortment has five cars for £10, which is also included in the two for £15 toy deal. Little hands can also make light work of the Chad Valley Wooden Peg Puzzle Assortment for £10 or the Mega Bloks 60 Piece First Builders Big Building Bag, also now £10. But savvy shoppers wanting to keep children busy for less can save 20% on selected Playworks toys and games at The Works for a limited time only.
