Broncos general manager George Paton lost assistant general manager Darren Mougey, V.P. of football operations Mark Thewes, college scouting director Brian Stark, national scout Rob Paton and senior personnel executive David Shaw this offseason. Through two outside hires and nine in-house promotions/title changes, Paton has now replaced those departures. The first known addition was Cam Williams as a co-director of player personnel. He spent the last decade with the New England Patriots. The second outside hire was Jordon Dizon as director of pro personnel. Dizon is returning to Denver after three years with the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots. What are the player eligibility rules for the NFL Draft?

What are the player eligibility rules for the NFL Draft? While the college sports landscape has seen foundational change in recent years due to NIL and the transfer portal, the rules on who can enter the NFL Draft have remained the same. Where other major professional leagues allow players to declare for a draft out of high school or after a year of college, the NFL requires prospects to wait longer before they can make that leap. LATEST NFL MOCK DRAFT: Saints trade up for Shedeur Sanders, Giants find their QB According to NFL guidelines, draft-eligible players must be three years removed from their high school graduation and exhausted their college eligibility. Underclassman or early graduates need to request the NFL's approval in order to enter the draft. That's typically a formality when it comes to juniors or redshirt sophomores. Via the NFL: Once players have become draft-eligible or have declared their intention to enter the draft early, the Player Personnel staff work with teams, agents and schools to clarify the players' status. They also work with agents, schools, scouts and teams to enforce league rules for Pro Days (where NFL scouts come to colleges to observe prospects) and private workouts. During the draft, Player Personnel staff confirm that all players who are drafted are draft-eligible. 2025 NFL DRAFT: Every team's biggest needs, from the Titans to the Eagles There you have it.
