All-conquering Chelsea women's team names D Louise as first jewellery partner
British jewellery brand D Louise has linked with Chelsea FC Women as its first official partner, and for good reason. The high-profile team has just finished the domestic season unbeaten while winning all three domestic trophies and the tie-up will be a perfect platform to 'bring the brand's purposeful, tarnish-free pieces to fans and players alike'. Created to be worn 'through work, travel and exercise' and made from durable, waterproof materials built to be resilient, we're told the jewellery is 'timeless and designed for life'. From the 2025/26 season, fans will be able to purchase unique co-branded jewellery and attend watch parties co-hosted to support women's sport this summer. Players will also wear lines from its range on arrival at matches next season at its home ground Stamford Bridge, and at the Player of the Year Awards. 'More than a collaboration, the partnership is a meeting of shared values with strength and purpose defining both D Louise and Chelsea Women, on and off the pitch. A symbol of stability, movement and staying in the game, the jewellery… will represent both brands' commitment to purpose and perseverance,' the retailer said. Olivia Jenkins, founder of D Louise, added: 'This partnership means so much to me personally. [The brand] was created in memory of my mum, as a way to turn pain into purpose and create something strong, lasting, and full of meaning. To now align with Chelsea FC Women, a team that embodies that same resilience and heart, feels incredibly powerful. We're not just creating jewellery, we're telling a story of strength, of showing up, and staying in the game, no matter what life throws at you.'

'We go again!' - Football Ventures director Nick Luckock's Wanderers message
FOOTBALL Ventures board member Nick Luckock had a simple message to everyone connected with Wanderers after a season of frustration in League One: 'We go again!' Speaking at the club's Player of the Year Awards, the businessman acknowledged some of the successes enjoyed by the B Team, Under-19s and women's team, along with the continued positive influence of Bolton Wanderers in the Community in the town. He also thanked fellow board members Michael James and Sharon Brittan for 'Resilience, passion and a determination to progress are reflected in the countless hours they pour into this club.' Reflecting on a season in which Wanderers spent heavily on the first team under Ian Evatt in an effort to reach the Championship but ultimately parted ways with the long-serving manager in January, bringing in Steven Schumacher, Luckock insists fans can 'look forward with purpose and optimism.' He said: 'This evening is also a chance to reflect on a year that tested us and ultimately has led to some recent disappointments. Last summer we decided to support the existing leadership team, heavily invest in the infrastructure and playing squad and strive in every way to achieve promotion. 'Everyone in this room supported the club in some way, be it through record season ticket sales, hospitality, away fan support, renewed sponsorship, or just those little things that help each other and the club out. 'We all wanted the same thing. It didn't happen, so we are learning the lessons, being smarter, making the necessary changes, and with your help we will go again. 'Over the five or so years that Football Ventures has been with this club we have been proud to live by the creed of one club, one community, one town. We have been humbled by the passion, commitment and unifying positive force of this club. 'Even though we sometimes frustrate ourselves on the pitch, I am immensely proud of the impact we all have on Bolton as a community, the way the town carries our name with pride and despite the challenges of the outside world we help people's lives and do good together. 'The other creed that Football Ventures has lived by as custodians is to leave the club in a better place than when we started, and tonight's event is just one example of the progress we have all made, so thank-you for the support. 'Under our new leadership team, with lessons learned and continued investment, with even deeper community ties, the strongest stakeholder relationships and all of us wearing the badge with pride, I'd like all of us to step up and make one simple toast: 'To Bolton Wanderers, we go again!'

Brendan Rodgers won't tolerate Celtic standing still and I already see clues as to what will happen next
Title number 55 was sealed in emphatic fashion. Long before the last pieces of ticker-tape had blown off the pitch at Tannadice, the attention of Brendan Rodgers will have already swirled towards No.56. This summer is enormous in terms of making more strides forward and finding new ways to improve and keep the drive and hunger within the unit. Yet, to look forward, sometimes you have to look back, so the best place to eye the future is by what's happening in the present. Callum McGregor lifted yet another Premiership trophy and he has been inspirational throughout the run to the flag. In some respects, it's impossible to deny Daizen Maeda the Player of the Year Awards because he has been incredible through the season. There's no point in going through his traits and attributes. It's been done often enough over the course of the season. However, the fact of the matter is that virtually no-one could have considered him having the impact he has had in terms of goal and assist numbers. Maeda's workrate, attitude and energy has never been questioned. It's been obvious since he signed. But the quality in his play has gone up the levels. He's composed in front of goal where once he snatched. He's decisive with his final pass where once he thrashed. Maeda will get the awards, but never underestimate the value of McGregor. It's only because he is consistently so good that he doesn't get the Player of the Award again. It's not unfair to say there are times when the captain is taken for granted outside of the club, but any doubts about his ability and influence are always dispelled when he's not in the team. McGregor is going to be the leader again within Rodgers' planning for the next assault. But Rodgers doesn't settle. He can't settle. He won't settle. He'll want the squad to push on again and the intrigue now comes with what happens next as regards some of the heroes from 2024/25. Looking at the title success just passed may give some clues into what will happen next. Without question, Nicolas Kuhn had a huge part to play in the triumph. Having been unconvincing through his first half-season at the club, the German came alive with a strong-pre-season under his belt. Kuhn's form dropped at the conclusion to the title win, but his contribution to get Celtic into position was exemplary. The winger's work attracted the attention of scouts and, with that in mind, bids could well arrive. In fact, I'd say it's likely and Celtic may decide he is the one to make the transfer money this summer. Reo Hatate is another who has played his part and it could be that, after three-and-a-half seasons in Glasgow, his time has come to move on, just as was the case with Kyogo Furuhashi who had been there for the same length of time. Maeda's also at three-and-a-half years, but Celtic must surely keep him. His ability to play as a No.9 takes away the urgency to get a new central striker signed ahead of the Champions League qualifiers. Adam Idah was supposed to take Kyogo's place, but the fact Rodgers opted to go with Maeda for the majority of the time may tell a story. For my money, Celtic have to buy a top-class striker. I thought it in January when Kyogo left and I still do. Matt O'Riley's departure last summer could have been a huge blow given his influence on the side during Rodgers' first term back, but McGregor and his colleagues in that department have done a splendid job. Hatate's situation is interesting, but he got into double figures with goals this term and so did Arne Engels, who has settled nicely after his £11 million move. I'm not buying the criticism of the kid. He's got some terrific ability and he's a hard worker. Some of stick he's received has been over the top. Engels looks to me as if he could keep progressing and I'd say the same goes for Paulo Bernardo, who missed a chunk of time through injury. That pair and Luke McCowan have parts to play in the future, but, if Hatate was to leave, another midfielder is necessary and, to be honest, in terms of the Champions League, you might want another one even if the Japanese remains at the club. The signing of Kasper Schmeichel was inspired. Joe Hart's departure almost a year ago left a gaping hole and you wondered who could fill it given the presence and performances of the Englishman. The Dane has done just that and more, while Viljami Sinisalo has been a good deputy. No issues there, but defence is key for strengthening. Greg Taylor's position is interesting with a new contract still to be signed. Kieran Tieney's addition is important and he may be more than a full-back. With Auston Trusty and Liam Scales both having had chances alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, it may be that the Arsenal man can also operate in a left-sided central role. Celtic set the bar with spends of £20 million on Idah and Engels last summer and Rodgers will want similar investment. You can't stand still or you go backwards, so it's needed and the manager will put that point across strongly to his hierarchy. But, whatever changes are made in the bid for the 56th crown and more progression in Europe, the squad in place who made it 55 have been worthy and deserving winners.
