PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – After crashing on Friday while fleeing from police, all five people inside a vehicle needed to be taken to the hospital, officials said. According to a release from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, officers located a vehicle while patrolling on April 11 that reportedly fled earlier in the day from the Winthrop Harbor Police Department. The vehicle then proceeded to flee from Pleasant Prairie police officers with the pursuit ending after the suspect driver lost control, resulting in a rollover crash. The following charges were submitted following the pursuit: Fleeing & Eluding an Officer 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Possession of Cocaine Probation/Parole Hold OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm 1st Degree Reckless Injury Injury by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle Discharging Bodily Fluid at an Officer Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License Causing Great Bodily Harm Police say several municipal citations were also made in addition to the charges listed above. PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – With the help of drones and a multi-agency response, officers were able to find and arrest a convicted felon who fled on foot after a pursuit that went through a Wisconsin farm field. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department (PPPD) posted a video of the pursuit and arrest on its Facebook, saying that on February 28 officers were notified of a vehicle that had previously fled from both the Kenosha Police Department and PPPD. The video shows the suspect vehicle cutting through a farm field during the pursuit. An officer can then be seen approaching the stopped vehicle, finding out it had been abandoned. Four drivers arrested for OWI in one Wisconsin city over St. Patrick's Day weekend Drones were then used to find the suspect in a nearby wooded area. Authorities and a K9 then tracked the suspect through the woods. The video appears to show the suspect giving themselves up as law enforcement approached, leading to an arrest. Afterward, authorities searched the vehicle and found a firearm. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department reported that Officer Thompson was involved in a crash while responding to a report of a shooting on December 20, 2024. The crash occurred during severe winter weather, and his driver's side door was pinned shut, trapping him inside. A Facebook post from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department shows the totaled squad car, saying the officer was involved in a multi-car crash on Thursday, January 30.
