Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 The NUISION 5-in-1 Hot Air Styler is dangerous Credit: Amazon 4 The product presents a serious risk of fire Credit: Amazon The hazardous dupe electrical appliance - model: WT-631 - is available from a variety of retailers including Amazon (£32.99), Shein (£39), Wowcher and Temu offering various prices averaging around £32.99. The black and gold hair styling wand with multiple attachments presents 'a serious risk of fire as the fuse within the plug has insufficient granular filler and is too small'. The product safety report said of the China-made stock: "The filler is required to ensure the safe operation of the fuse under fault conditions." The assessment continued: "Its absence could lead to the plug overheating and/or exploding. "The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994." Customers reviewed: "I used it maybe three times a month. Something burned and smoke went off." A second warned: "The button fell off after a month but I could still manage to turn it on and off albeit awkwardly. However I was just drying my hair today with it when I heard a pop and it started smoking." A third revealed: "It broke down after nearly a month and a half. It burned out and then the motor was really slow and only gave a weak air stream." Another urged: "Do not buy... just blew up in the house when using. Only had it for a month." "Started smoking after a few uses. Do not recommend and seems very difficult to claim on warranty," reported another unhappy customer. "Hairdryer far too hot and burnt some of my hair. Very dissatisfied and disappointed," claimed another user. I tried Aldi's Dyson airwrap dupe at bargain price - and it gave me easy hair salon look The iconic Dyson Airwrap is the most coveted and pricey hair styler on the market. Released in 2018, the Airwrap was the first styler to use airflow technology to create salon-level bouncy blow-outs, but is far from affordable. The Dyson Airwrap has had a few upgrades over the years, and the latest I.D model allows users to control the hair styler through their phone. A retail price of £480 makes it no surprise that beauty fans are seeking out cheaper alternatives. However, there are some impressive dupes of the original Dyson Airwrap. Shark, Nicky Clarke, Revlon and Babyliss are among the brands to launch their own air stylers. 4 The electrical appliance has been recalled Credit: 4 The product presents a dangerous fire hazard Credit: Amazon

The product has also been removed from the online marketplace. According to an advisory issued by the UK government, the product presents a serious risk of fire as the lithium-ion battery pack is poorly constructed and does not provide sufficient protection to prevent thermal runaway. The advisory reads: "Additionally, the power supply is fitted with a noncompliant plug, with the plug pins too close to the edge of the plug face, exposing the user to live parts. "The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994." Owners have been urged to stop using the product immediately and contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress. It is important to note that users should not dispose of lithium-ion batteries in normal household waste. The Murcher Bedside Table Lamp, sold under models WDF-YW-02 and WDF-FX01, poses a high fire risk due to a critical design fault, according to a new safety alert. The issue lies in the lack of proper cord anchorage inside the lamp. Over time, the power cord can shift and place dangerous strain on the lamp's internal connections. This can cause wires to detach, short-circuit, and overheat — which could easily trigger a fire in your home. The lamps, imported from China, were being sold via Amazon with product identifiers like FBA15JYHB6P9U000046, X001XNT8TZ, FBA15JYHB6P9U000016, and X001SKTXON. They feature a patterned design and come complete with a plug and bulb, making them a tempting buy for many looking to spruce up their bedside tables. However, the UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards has confirmed that the lamps do not meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Because of this, all imports have been blocked at the border and destroyed to prevent them from entering the country.

However, now the product's maker Eclat Cosmetic Ltd. is recalling the Beauty Hair Revitalise Steamer Cap for shoppers' safety. The two popular high street retailers have announced the safety recall, and are urging shoppers to return the item. TK Maxx and Homesense customers can claim a full refund or replacement upon handing the cap back to its vendor. According to the warning online, the risk of an ''electric shock or fire'' is caused by the fuse in the cap's plug, which does not meet the UK's required safety standards. Following the discovery, the recall also instructs shoppers to ''spread the news'' about the product's risk, by informing friends and family. Shockingly, this is not the only bathroom essential that's been recalled recently. The USB Electric Toothbrush Charger, sold on Amazon, has a number of issues with its fuse, meaning that if an electrical surge or fault were to occur occur, it could cause a fire. The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued an urgent recall of the product, as it does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994. The recall states that the fuse within the charger's plug does not contain any granular filler, is the wrong length, and that the fuse endcaps are insecurely fixed. Supermarkets urgently recall iconic Scottish snack over health risk "In the event of an electrical surge or fault, the plug may overheat and ignite, causing a fire," the recall reads. The product, which comes from China, is now being rejected at the border. The £8.99 charger has a "waterproof design" and a "smart standby" mode, which detects when the toothbrush is fully charged. Your product recall rights Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know. Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods. As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action. But it's often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk. If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer's website to see if a safety notice has been issued. When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you - the customer - to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don't there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault. If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer. They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice. In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected. You should not be charged for any recall work - such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item However, it has now been deemed unsafe for consumers. The model of the product is XT-3757 and the brand name is Shenzhen Binsheng Technology Development Co Ltd. Anyone who has purchased the project should stop using it immediately, and should be able to contact Amazon for a full refund. Products are commonly recalled when they pose a risk to customers' health and safety. This comes after a number of cheap money-saving gadgets sold on sites such as Amazon and AliExpress, were recalled because they failed basic electrical safety standards.

This comes after a number of cheap money-saving gadgets sold on sites such as Amazon and AliExpress, were recalled because they failed basic electrical safety standards Staying Safe with Product Recalls in the UK The so-called energy saving plugs, appealed to Brits keen to keep energy bills down. According to consumer Watchdog Which?, one product, available on AliExpress, claimed to "reduce" line loss and "improve" power factor, with around 260 buyers. Another product, sold on eBay, claimed to use 'a capacitor system to store electrical energy, allowing it to be released more smoothly'. However, experts from Which? found that these products had poor quality soldering, contained too much lead, and had unmarked non-standard capacitors indicating they were not manufactured in the UK and therefore potentially unsafe. Your product recall rights Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know. Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods. You should not be charged for any recall work - such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item "It's incredibly concerning to see that these scam eco-plugs are still widely available on many online marketplaces, despite the fact that they are illegal and potentially a danger to their users," said Sue Davies, Which? head of consumer protection policy. 'Sadly, it's not surprising that these dangerous items have reappeared on major online marketplaces. "It fits the pattern we've seen following countless Which? investigations and is yet more evidence of why change is needed. A popular kids' dinosaur toy sold on Amazon was also recently recalled due to a "serious risk" of choking. The 3D printed toy was mislabelled, and a young child could smoke on a small part. The recall notice states that the toy, from China, is now being rejected at the border. And a popular airfryer sold in B&M, Argos, Poundland and Tesco has been recalled due to the risk of it bursting into flames. Customers who have one of four models of the airfryer by Tower are being told to get in touch with the company. Models affected include the T17023 Tower 2.2Ltr Manual Air Fryer, T17061BLK Tower 4Ltr Manual Air Fryer, T17067 Tower 4Ltr Digital Air Fryer and the T17087 Tower 2Ltr Compact Manual Air Fryer.
