Six foreign women detained in Bukit Bintang prostitution crackdown
KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreign women suspected of engaging in prostitution around Bukit Bintang were detained during an Op Noda raid by the Police Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) early this morning.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the operation followed intelligence on openly conducted prostitution activities in the Jalan Changkat area of Bukit Bintang.
"The arrests were made around 4am, involving three Nigerian women, two Ugandan women, and one Senegalese woman.
"They are believed to have offered sexual services for RM50 per session before taking clients to rented rooms in the surrounding area," he said in a statement today.
Rusdi added that the foreigners, aged between 22 and 30, entered Malaysia as tourists and are believed to have operated independently.
"Investigations found that their activities typically began at 8pm and continued until 5am, targeting foreigners and regular customers.
"All those arrested failed to produce identification documents and only provided verbal confirmation of their identities when detained," he added.
Among items seized during the raid were six condoms and RM300 in cash.
