Chopper makes emergency landing
Pune: A private helicopter carrying six persons, including two pilots, made an emergency landing on August 15 near a village in Pune district due to poor visibility as a result of fog, police officials said on Tuesday. (Reuters) The chopper belonging to a city-based builder was flying to Mumbai when the pilots were forced to land it on a roadside near Saltar village in Mulshi tehsil around 3pm, an official from Pune rural police said. 'As per the information received from the local people and the village Police Patil (a village-level law enforcement officer), the helicopter with two pilots and four passengers on board made an emergency landing due to fog. It took off again within 15 minutes,' he said, adding that no case of injury was reported in the incident.

Pune: Murder probe into bodies of woman, 2 kids; cops release details of tattoos found on woman's body
A day after a murder probe was launched into the discovery of the partially-burnt bodies of a woman and two children near the Pune- Ahilyanagar Highway close to Ranjangaon town in Shirur taluka on Sunday morning, Pune Rural police released details of tattoos on the deceased woman's body as the probe to identify the three bodies continued. Initial probe and the autopsy revealed they were murdered by injuries inflicted on their heads before being set on fire to destroy the evidence. Pune Rural police had on Sunday launched a murder probe after the partially-burnt bodies of a woman, estimated to be aged between 25 and 30, and two children — believed to be her own -aged around two and four years were discovered. Initial findings by police suggested the victims might have been murdered elsewhere and their bodies transported and set on fire at the spot they were discovered. 'Our investigation is primarily focused on establishing the identities of the victims. On Monday morning we came across a report of a woman and her two children of the same age group who had gone missing from an area in Pune district. But later during the day, the said woman and children were traced and returned to their home,' said an officer. 'The Initial probe and the autopsy has revealed they were murdered by inflicting injuries on their heads before being set on fire to destroy the evidence. The detailed examination of the body of the woman has revealed that she had multiple tattoos. We are releasing information about these tattoos to the public and are making an appeal to approach us if they have any information. The woman was wearing a yellow sari with a floral design and was wearing a mangalsutra. On the front of the right hand there is a tattoo of a heart shape followed by a heartbeat sign in the form of an ECG line followed by words mom and dad in english. The right hand also has the words Jai Bhim written in Marathi. On the back side of right hand there is a tattoo of the name Kartik in Marathi in addition to two heart signs with letters R and S written in those hearts and the name Rajratan in english. On the left hand there is a tattoo of floral design,' said the officer. 'We are making an appeal to people to come forward with information about the woman of this description. The name of the informant will be kept secret,' the officer added. The three bodies were found around 150 metres away from the Pune Ahilyanagar Highway at Khandale village in Shirur taluka on Sunday morning. The information about the discovery of the bodies was received by the Pune Rural police around 11 am on Sunday from the Police Patil of the Khandale village, a local functionary of Revenue Department working in coordination with the police. When contacted, Superintendent of Police with Pune Rural, Sandeep Singh Gill said, 'We have formed four teams to work on various angles. CCTV footages from the area are being checked. The probe to establish the identities is currently on.'
