Teen charged in Temple aggravated robbery
TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44) – A Temple teenager is in jail, and has been charged with aggravated robbery.
Officers with the Temple Police Department were dispatched to the 6400 block of W. Adams Avenue around 4:09 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an aggravated robbery. When they arrived, they were advised an individual entered the shop and pointed a weapon at the clerk, stole a vape device, then left running eastbound on W. Adams Avenue.
Pollice say officers shared information of the description of the suspect over the radio, established a perimeter, and an Unmanned Aerial System was deployed. Officers obtained information from neighbors regarding the last direction of travel of the suspect. This information was shared over the radio, and the UAS operator was able to find the individual near the 500 block of Brooks Drive.
The individual was detained at this location, and has been identified as 18-year-old Lawrence Jones, of Temple. Additional evidence of the crime was found at the scene.
New charges for man caught earlier in sex sting
Officers placed Jones under arrest for Aggravated Robbery and transported him to the Bell County Jail.
No injuries have been reported, and there is no threat to the public.
