Ralph Lauren's Polo Bear Makes His Big-Screen Debut in 'The Polo Bear Chronicles: Operation Black Tie'
Summary
Ever since his arrival (as a birthday gift) at the imprint in 1990,Ralph Lauren's Polo Bear has been a vital part of the brand's DNA. Core to the brand's unwavering ethos, the furry-faced mascot has transcended far beyond his mere 'figurehead' facade and has since grown into one of the most lovable leading faces in the fashion ether, becoming an instant indicator of sharp style and storytelling across all facets of the brand's vision.
For Ralph Lauren's first-ever animated short film, the Polo Bear is the star of the show. EntitledThe Polo Bear Chronicles: Operation Black Tie, the six-minute film fleshes out some more of our fashionable furry friend's lore, following the Polo Bear as he attempts to solve a heist, making his way through moonlit galleries and other side quests before he winds up at a polo match at a private estate.
'In a quiet Manhattan townhouse, where the jazz is smooth, the tailoring sharper than a switchblade, lives one gentle bear, with a taste for the finer things – and an unlikely sidekick: a streetwise pigeon,' the trailer kicks off, introducing us to our stealthy protagonist.
'They're about to pull off the most refined art recovery of the century. From brownstone to beach house, polo game to gala, they'll outfit socialites and security alike. All without saying a word. Because when the lights go out and the art goes missing, there's only one name on everyone's lips … Polo Bear.'
