Raipur: Chhattisgarh defeated Pondicherry by four wickets in the final of Senior Men's Inter-State One Day Trophy at the Pondicherry Cricket Association ground on Monday. After winning the toss, Chhattisgarh chose to field first. Pondicherry scored 227 runs in 49.1 overs before being bowled out. For Pondicherry, Raghavan was the top scorer with 58 runs, while Vedant Bhardwaj scored 42 and Ankit Sharma added 31. Arafat Khan and Vasudev Bareth were the pick of the bowlers for Chhattisgarh, taking three wickets each. Chhattisgarh reached 228 for six in 42.3 overs, after chasing a target of 228 runs. Mohammad Irfan guided his team to victory with an unbeaten knock of 60 runs. Mohit Raut contributed with 52 runs and Harsh Yadav scored an unbeaten 38. Raipur: Chhattisgarh registered a convincing victory over Himachal Pradesh in the Senior Men's Inter-State One Day Trophy 2024-25, organised by the Pondicherry Cricket Association, on Saturday. Chhattisgarh elected to field first after winning the toss. Himachal Pradesh put up a competitive total of 265 for 9 in 50 overs. Mrudul Surroch top-scored with a solid 74, while Ekant Sen added 44 runs. For Chhattisgarh, Harsh Yadav and Vasudev Bareth claimed three wickets each, while Gagandeep Singh claimed two scalps. In reply, Chhattisgarh chased down the target of 266 runs comfortably in 38.2 overs, finishing at 267 for 5 to win the match by 5 wickets. Vaibhav Sahu anchored the innings with an unbeaten 79, well supported by Prateek Yadav's 65 and Gagandeep Singh's quick 44. For Himachal, Vaibhav Arora took two wickets. With this win, Chhattisgarh opened their campaign on a strong note, showcasing depth in both batting and bowling. From four matches, Chhattisgarh registered two victories and two losses.
